The Apostates’ Doom – A. W. Pink / Studies in the Scriptures / Christian Audio Books

A W Pink considers Hebrews 10:26-31 in discussing the apostate’s doom. He discusses how preachers had watered down that [and all] scripture in his day [he died in 1952]. They promised believers that if they had accepted Christ [signed a card; uttered the sinner’s prayer…] that their eternal future was secure…. He discussed a three erroneous takes on this passage by Arminians, over-zealous Calvinists; he called out the dispensationalists for “trifling with God’s word.” He aimed to present a biblical take on the passage and seemed to do so. It is an important message for all Christians in this day of far greater heresy and apostasy than in the 1950s. I recommend reading the preceding post on the impact of Christian Liberalism on the church before this post. Video is 43 minutes with a long list of highlights beforehand

The Decline of Protestant Christianity in the early 20th century has impacted you today

This post is a crash-course in the decline of the Christian church since the late 19th century. The purpose herein is to help you assess the quality of your own faith as you come understand the unbiblical impact of Christian Liberalism.  The first two videos surround a figure of the Presbyterian church in the early 20th century, J Gresham Machen. [Although Machen was a Presbyterian, his fight against the unbiblical movement of Christian liberalism is relevant to the whole of Christianity.] Two posts from this blog are linked because they provide necessary information about unbiblical evangelism and C H Spurgeon’s fight against liberalism, narrated by John MacArthur.

Repent or Perish! – A. W. Pink

The following 5-minute devotional says much about repentance and the hindrances to it.  The chief obstacle is self, which he addresses in a succinct but thorough manner. [One big problem of the Christian walk is learning to deny self. This culture has made that a huge problem because we are taught from childhood, by TV ads and by observing what the people around us value, that self-gratification is the height of personal freedom.] Sermon highlights precede the 5-minute video

America As The New Athens – Pastor Patrick Hines

The sermon of this post uses the apostle Paul’s speech to the Athenians from Acts 17, to explain our current culture and how we need to present the gospel message today. Pastor Hines explains that our culture is post-Christian and most do not know the basic historical foundational points of Christianity and believe, for example, that our worldview is only one option among many. [Many are becoming aware of what is happening in schools, how children are being indoctrinated into Pagan worldviews; but this type of indoctrination has been happening for 50 years or more in our culture, so many adults are unfamiliar with biblical truth that is essential to salvation and a correct understanding of themselves, God and purpose in living…. This sermon provides information that is as essential to Christians as R C Sproul’s dvd on the Christian Worldview.]

The White House Just Opened The Gates Of Hell In America

The 9-minute video of this post, is about president Biden’s signing into law the ‘respect of marriage act.’  Vlogger, John Henry shows three different clips of Biden as his views ‘evolved’ from opposition to promotion of gay marriage. In the process, he shows how pastors abandoning the preaching of God’s word have helped create this cultural environment. As he discusses the above, John Henry explains how Romans 1 describes the events we are living through as the outpouring of God’s wrath upon society.

Heaven Taken By Storm, an excerpt – Thomas Watson

There are two brief videos in this post; they are excerpts from Puritan Thomas Watson’s book, Heaven Taken by Storm. The first, 3 ½ minutes, is about sin and how to fight it; the second, 4 ½ minutes, is about the word and its benefits. There is a link to the 27-minute video from which I took these excerpts. Watson’s scriptural text is Matthew 11:12 From the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven has suffered violence, and the violent take it by force.

The fight of faith, A W Pink

This post contains a 20-minute reading from A W Pink’s writings about fighting the good fight of faith. His description of the fight is very useful because he boils things down such that one can begin fighting. Sermon points precede the video, so those who do not have 20 minutes to spare, can read the points, which are more than just highlights.

Prison Ministry of John MacArthur – Reaching The Lost When They’ve Hit Bottom

The title of this post does not mean that all prisoners have hit bottom, many will get released and continue in a life of crime; but MacArthur’s church ministry makes literature and ministry available for those who realize they are at a very low point in their lives. Part of the discussion focuses on the need of Christians to be able to present the biblical gospel message of hope to people, also non-prisoners, who are in dire need of it. In these days of mass deception (as evidenced in recent posts herein on the Covid 19 vax), and rapid moral disintegration of our world, everyone needs to be ready to meet God. Christians need to be able to witness Christ and His gospel message to lost family members and neighbors….

Pastor Confronts Phoenix Mayor and City Council

In the 2-minute, 30-second video of this post, Pastor Jeff Durbin of Apologia Church was confronting Phoenix mayor and city council about their session wherein they sought to ignore a law calling for the protection of the unborn. Durbin compared their actions to those who opposed the Christian abolitionists because they couldn’t give up slavery, therefore, not wanting to offer “our Black brothers and sisters” protection under the law – this is a sterling example for all Christians about standing for Christ regarding issues currently on the forefront of the culture wars
