The False Ministries of Steven Furtick and T. D. Jakes Critiqued

In the following 10-minute John Henry video, he exhibits the false ministries of Steven Furtick and T D Jakes in video clips; followed by video critiques of their false ministries by Paul Washer and Todd Friel; John MacArthur; Voddie Baucham; and Justin Peters. In the process of his 10-minute video, John Henry also shows clips of Joel Osteen, Benny Hinn, Rick Warren, and Joyce Meyers.

Henry also comments on the lack of discernment of the throngs of people following the false prophets, their churches are huge and filled with people who want their ears tickled….

[Please note the sizes of the crowds attending Osteen’s, Hinn’s and Furtick’s services from the video.]

For example, to grasp the significance of the numbers of people following these false prophets as compared to the numbers attending biblical churches, consider the following:

The video showed more people attending Osteen’s Colosseum on a given Sunday than belong to the entire Orthodox Presbyterian church:

Per a Fact Check by USA Today on Joel Osteen’s Lakewood Church [I chose to get numbers from this article because it was more recent than those by other sources]:  https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/factcheck/2021/02/19/fact-check-joel-osteens-lakewood-church-open-texas-winter-storm/4503362001/

Lakewood Church was formerly the home of the NBA’s Houston Rockets. The church now draws more than 45,000 weekly attendees. Osteen faced backlash in December when it was reported that Lakewood Church received a $4.4 million PPP loan….

Per Wikipedia:  At the 2022 General Assembly, the OPC reported 576 ministers and 32,255 members.[1] The OPC has 17 Presbyteries across Canada and the United States: Central Pennsylvania, Connecticut and Southern New York, the Dakotas, Michigan and Ontario, Mid-Atlantic, Midwest, New Jersey, New York and New England, Northern California and Nevada, Northwest, Ohio, Philadelphia, South, Southeast, Southern California, Southwest, and Wisconsin and Minnesota.[11][12]

THE FOLLOWING ARTICLE FROM, RELIGION NEWS SERVICE, 1-7-22, EXPLAINS THAT THE REFORMED CHURCH IN AMERICA HAS SPLIT BECAUSE OF ISSUES SURROUNDING SAME-SEX MARRIAGE:

https://religionnews.com/2022/01/07/former-rca-churches-form-new-conservative-denomination/

The article noted that the body of members of the entire reformed church [various protestant churches that adhere to the doctrines of the protestant reformation] is around 200,000.

Excerpt:

(RNS) — On New Year’s Day, 43 congregations of the Reformed Church in America split from the national denomination, one of the oldest Protestant bodies in the United States, in part over theological differences regarding same-sex marriage and the ordination of LGBTQ clergy.

The departure of the theologically conservative congregations to the new group, the Alliance of Reformed Churches, leaves some who remain in the RCA concerned for the denomination’s survival. Before the split, the nearly 400-year-old denomination had fewer than 200,000 members and 1,000 churches.
