Judge Blocks Biden Administration’s COVID-19 Vaccine Mandate for Health Care Workers – Epoch Times

A federal judge on Nov. 29 halted the Biden administration’s COVID-19 vaccine mandate for health care workers, although the ruling only applies to 10 states. The mandate, promulgated earlier this month by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), required approximately 17 million workers to get a jab or face termination. …The request came from Missouri and nine other states, which asserted that the health care worker mandate was unlawful in part because it was arbitrary and capricious, which is prohibited by the Administrative Procedure Act.

Supreme Court Rejects Massachusetts Hospital Workers’ Vaccine Mandate Lawsuit – Epoch Times

The Supreme Court on Monday turned away a group of workers who sought exemptions from their Massachusetts-based hospital’s COVID-19 vaccine mandate. Their request was denied by Justice Stephen Breyer, the justice assigned to handle emergency matters from Massachusetts, who offered no comment. The legal challenge was filed by eight employees of Mass General Brigham Inc., who were placed on leave or terminated for not getting the vaccine.

Naturally Immune People at Little Risk of Reinfection, Severe Disease From COVID-19: Study – Epoch Time

The studied population contracted COVID-19, the disease caused by the CCP (Chinese Communist Party) virus, between Feb. 28, 2020, and April 28, 2021.
Reinfections were counted if a person tested positive at least 90 days after their first infection. After excluding approximately 87,500 people with a vaccination record, researchers found those with immunity from having recovered from COVID-19 had little risk of reinfection and severe cases of the disease. Just 1,304 reinfections were identified. That means 0.4 percent of people with natural immunity and without a vaccination record got COVID-19 a second time.

A Tax Gift to the Rich Divides Democrats – Epoch Times

President Joe Biden repeatedly said he would raise taxes only on the rich to pay for his Build Back Better plan, but now he’s backing a tax break for millionaires and billionaires, contradicting his promises. …The plan allows taxpayers to deduct up to $80,000 of state and local taxes against their federal income taxes, a sharp increase from the current $10,000 cap. This means many among the rich would pay lower federal income taxes than they currently pay. …Under the House plan, roughly one third of the tax benefits would go to the richest 1 percent and three-quarters would go to the richest 5 percent, according to an analysis by the left-leaning Institute on Taxation and Economic Policy. …Sanders criticized Democrats over their “hypocrisy.”

DOI Pushes for Higher Fees for Offshore, Onshore Oil and Gas Companies – Epoch Times

The DOI report (pdf), issued in response to Biden’s Jan. 27 executive order, was quietly published on Black Friday after months of delays. DOI Secretary Deb Haaland claimed in March that the report would be released in “early summer.” Oil prices and gasoline prices have become a hot-button issue, with many blaming the Biden administration’s freeze on oil and gas leasing, shutdown of the Keystone XL pipeline, and other policies for helping to drive up those costs in recent months. “So, begging OPEC+ for more supply, raiding our strategic reserve to try to lower prices at the pump, and now increasing leasing fees on U.S. producers.
