Sanctification, The Believer’s Transformation, Part 2 – Dr. John MacArthur

This sermon is about sanctification; the born-again believer lives his entire Christian life between the events of justification and glorification, being progressively sanctified, or made holy. The believer’s chief identity is to be found ‘in Christ.’ Dr. MacArthur’s main text is from Colossians 3, but he also uses Hebrews 12; 2 Corinthians; Ephesians 2. He never stated that this sermon undermines anyone attempting to justify CRT in the church, but it does. I linked a post from this blog wherein Dr. Voddie Baucham spoke about the SBC adopting CRT.

New Hampshire School Boards Association Leaves National Organization Over Parent Controversy – Epoch Times

The National School Board Association (NSBA) recently sent a letter to the Biden administration’s Department of Justice that described the actions of parents protesting policies such as critical race theory or COVID-19 rules as the equivalence of “domestic terrorism.” …The controversy led lawmakers in Washington to discuss the matter with Garland this week. Republicans on the Judiciary Committee blasted the attorney general after he failed to rescind the letter or apologize regarding the matter. “Thank God you’re not on the Supreme Court,” Sen. Tom Cotton (R-Ark.) told Garland. “You should resign in disgrace.” The NSBA has since apologized for its letter.

Breakthrough Infections, Deaths Among COVID-19 Vaccinated Rose in Recent Months: CDC – Epoch Times

Infections, hospitalizations, and deaths linked to COVID-19 have risen among people who have gotten a COVID-19 vaccine in recent months, according to newly released data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). But the bulk of cases, hospitalizations, and deaths remained among unvaccinated Americans, the data show. Cases per 100,000 among the fully vaccinated increased from 12.3 in late June to 121 in mid-August, according to the data. Around the same time, COVID-19-associated hospitalizations in that population rose from 8.9 per 100,000 to 75 and COVID-19 deaths jumped from 0.1 per 100,000 to 1.1.

Wealthy Americans Taking Action to Protect Portfolios Ahead of Biden’s Tax Hikes – Epoch Times

A new survey published by UBS Global Wealth Management found that a significant proportion of U.S. investors with at least $1 million in assets are taking action to get ahead of the tax changes proposed by the Biden administration as “their optimism in the economy wavers due to concerns about politics, potential tax increases, national debt, and inflation.” …At the same time, UBS said that 39 percent have sought expert tax advice ahead of the potential changes, 36 percent have shifted some assets into trusts, and 34 percent have increased gifting to family and/or friends.

Illinois Mayor Ignores Governor’s Mask Mandate: ‘We Have to Start Moving On’ – Epoch Times

“We have to start moving on. We’re as safe as we can be. If you want to wear a mask, wear a mask,” Mayor Craig Johnson announced at a city council meeting, ABC 7 reported. “But it’s time to move on.” …The governor said at the time the measure applies to everyone in all indoor settings who is over the age of 2, regardless of their vaccination status. …The mayor explained that the number of COVID-19 patients in the community has been consistently dropping. …the governor last spring. Once you drop below 5 percent, he’d open up. Well, today we are at 1.6, 1.7 percent. Why aren’t we opening?” he added as he questioned the governor’s line of logic.
