Presbyterian Pastor Tim Keller – Cultural Marxist Influencers – Part 2-A

Purpose of this post: I know Christians who believe the Bible and strive to live in accord with it and who also respect Pastor Tim Keller. I am angered that he was so well respected and yet a false preacher.

Many pastors are compromising to the woke, leftist, Marxist agenda; Keller, was not one of those. Post 2-B on Keller will show that he drank deeply of leftism when he was in college and has apparently been sufficiently subtle as to trick many Christians into thinking that he was a pastor that held and taught biblical doctrine, he did not. He was false from the beginning of his ministry.

Born:     Timothy James Keller, September 23, 1950, Allentown, Pennsylvania, U.S.

Died:     May 19, 2023, New York City, U.S.

Age at death      72 years [Wikipedia]

The following 13-minute video shows Tim Keller’s thoughts on ‘white privilege,’ a social-Marxist concept which he describes as biblical. His use of humor, diversions and broad generalizations to accomplish his task does not go unnoticed by the pastors of North Avenue Church as they critique a video of him being interviewed about social disparities in the prison system….

The most foundational point of this post, illustrated by the contents of the video, is that Marxism and Christianity are diametrically opposed. That is, if one is a Christian, then he/she cannot be a Marxist; and vice versa.

For example: can one be both an atheist and a Christian? Can one worship both the secular state of Marxism and the God of the Bible?

The answer to each of those questions is NO.

Though Marxist ideology is antithetical to the Bible, there are many ‘trendy’ 21st century pastors leading their congregants down the road of syncretism.

I learned that word in my first read-through of my NIV study Bible. For those who do not know its definition:

syncretism /sĭng′krĭ-tĭz″əm, sĭn′-/
noun
  1. Reconciliation or fusion of differing systems of belief, as in philosophy or religion, especially when success is partial or the result is heterogeneous.
  2. The merging of two or more originally different inflectional forms.
  3. The attempted reconciliation or union of irreconcilable principles or parties, as in philosophy or religion; specifically, the doctrines of a certain school in the Lutheran Church, followers of Calixtus, who attempted to effect a union among all Christians, Protestant and Catholic. Sec syncretist.                          The American Heritage® Dictionary of the English Language, 5th Edition • More at Wordnik
Tim Keller’s syncretism will be seen more clearly in the next video which explains how his theories evolved over the course of his college days. But it is apparent in the video below, if you remember that Marxist ideology CANNOT be reconciled with Christianity (even though many pastors are currently doing it as they contradict logic).
If you attend such a trendy church, then, for the sake of your eternal soul, leave. Many formerly biblical pastors are leading their flocks astray.
It is very important that you know how to identify whether or not your pastor is teaching the Bible or some snycretic blend. You must know its contents to succeed.
Highlight points are below video:

HIGHLIGHTS [bracketed statements, emboldening and underscoring are mine]:

  • Video opens by asking Keller about the disparities between Blacks and Whites in prison populations
  • Critiquing Pastors (CP) from North Avenue Church note that it is an erroneous assumption to attribute such disparities to discrimination (as Cultural Marxism does); CP present material during video that sheds much light on this common error
  • Keller’s interviewer noted that his church, Holy Redeemer, is populated with mostly whites and Asians
  • Keller is asked why, and begins to discuss White people and ‘corporate responsibility’ but decides to explain that by citing the prayer of Daniel 9, wherein Daniel owns the sins of his people while praying to God
  • Keller suggested that Daniel was born in Babylon after the exile and didn’t actually have any personal sins to confess, but confessed sin because of corporate responsibility
  • CP explained errors in Keller’s remarks on Daniel: Daniel was born in Israel and was part of the exile… therefore; he did have sins to confess; especially because the nation of Israel was in a covenant with God and violated that covenant…
  • CP used an article by pastor Kevin DeYoung that talked about this passage of scripture in terms of corporate responsibility, which revealed Keller’s errors
  • CP: Keller’s hermeneutic is wrong
  • Keller: if you are bad, your community bears some responsibility for that because you became bad there via that community environment, established by that community
  • Keller, the belief that ‘Black people are dangerous’ is an example [of such a community manifestation]
  • Keller noted that a Norwegian who heard him state that, denied responsibility
  • Keller: ‘studies show that having White skin is worth $ 1 million over a lifetime’
  • PC: this statement indicates that Keller’s statements are founded on Cultural Marxism tenets
  • PC: showed a chart of family earnings which had Blacks on the bottom at $35k, Whites several rungs up at $59.9K and noted that these two groups are usually the only two mentioned by Cultural Marxists when they determine that White supremacy or White privilege has occurred
  • The chart had about a dozen ethnic groups above Whites, they were all Asian
  • CP: by Cultural Marxist standards then, there ought to be Asian supremacy and Asian privilege
  • CP: the differences on the chart are largely due to cultures: for example, there is much pressure in Asian homes for success in education and employment; their children spend many hours in school, till 9PM daily, per an example of a Chinese American family
  • Additionally, the percentage of single-parent families among Whites and Blacks is much higher than among Asians
  • If Asian children have intact families, are so busy with schooling and preparing for careers, they don’t have the time to be involved in Crime; won’t be incarcerated…
  • Hence, the differences on the chart
  • NOT because of discrimination; White privilege… like Cultural Marxists claim, but largely because of other cultural issues
  • CP: therefore, Keller’s hermeneutic is wrong
  • Keller made a statement [that I have heard Obama say] that Whites are standing on the shoulders of others who were guilty of White privilege before them, of social injustice; and they are benefiting from that injustice…
  • He then said that his ideas are in the Bible
  • PC: Keller is very wrong to state that his Cultural Marxist ideas are biblical
  • PC: that is, guilt is imputed to you even if you are not personally responsible

End of critique by North Avenue Church

Summary of my purpose:

Tim Keller, Presbyterian PCA Pastor, has imbibed deeply of Cultural Marxism and is guilty of syncretism, which the God of the Bible disdains.

Part B of this post will show you where Keller’s views came from, the Cultural Marxists whom he admired and emulated.

You can find other sources and videos on YouTube by searching ‘Tim Keller White privilege.’ You could likely search with his name and other aspects of Cultural Marxism also.

Keller is one of many trendy, socially acceptable, compromising pastors leading their flocks astray, onto the broad road of destruction.
