Thinketh No Evil, 1 Corinthians 13:5, Part 2

The following 6 minute video is part 2 of Jonathan Edwards’ sermon, Charity is contrary to a censorious spirit.

Dr. Jeff Mayfield clarifies additional points of Edwards’ sermon, regarding the phrase, “thinketh no evil.”

Herein, Mayfield identifies that Edwards’ chief point is that we give others the benefit of the doubt, as we tend to do in considering our own conduct; it is our pride that moves us to do otherwise.

A couple of his sub points are that we should be slow to judge others, which is a distraction from our greatest need: examining ourselves.  After all, on judgment day, we will only be held accountable for our own words, attitudes, actions….
