The Use of Your Time: Jonathan Edwards Book of Resolutions, by Dr. Steve Lawson

Edwards kept three considerations in the front of his mind during his entire life: the shortness of life; the certainty of death; and the length of eternity.

Dr. Lawson’s lecture shows the great value of having godly priorities and specific resolutions as Jonathan Edwards had, these kept his life focused.

Edwards strove to live a holy life that glorified God, and he succeeded.

This lecture covered 5 of Edward’s resolutions; in discussing these, Dr. Lawson showed that Edward’s life was like an arrow that hit its mark: a life that glorified God; holy and purposeful.

Dr. Lawson noted Edward’s final words and his wife’s response — her death occurred shortly after his.

He was only 55, and had accomplished so much.

That I discovered the above video on YouTube this morning, I consider to be an answer to prayer, as I have been struggling with the issue of “time usage” for a while: too much TV, sleeping in…a drift towards worldliness.

I found the contents of Dr. Lawson’s lecture to be just what I needed to hear: words of direction and encouragement!
