The Truth War is a book written by Dr. John MacArthur in 2007 to confront the emergent church and other heretical movements in Christ’s body, the church.

Dr. MacArthur’s book, The Truth War, can be purchased on his site (gty.org) or Amazon for $8 — $10. It is a wonderful read and worthy of many reads because, in general, it talks about the necessity of Christians abiding in God’s word.
Specifically, it addresses the heretics of the emergent church.
Furthermore, it also makes clear the idea of “trendiness” being heresy.
So many in the contemporary church want to be trendy, as though God’s word is not sufficient or is no longer true or something. Or as if modern man is more wise than God.
The opposite is true. The further we go in time, the more corrupt our race becomes. Modern technology, for example, has only increased the moral wretchedness of the human race.
However, one could never understand this truth unless he read through the Bible.
That is something most Christians seem unwilling to do, even though Christ stated that a true Christian is one who hungers and thirsts after true righteousness, that would include understanding Bible doctrine, out of which, flows the blessings of the Christian life….
The first time I read through the Bible, I was born-again. I then saw error in the church everywhere I looked. The Holy Spirit had opened my eyes.
You cannot get your eyes opened by reading Rob Bell or Brian McLaren. You will only increase your conceit and blindness, as they have done by turning from God’s wisdom to their own, as the apostle Paul stated in Romans chapter one:
Rom 1:21 Yes, they knew God, but they wouldn’t worship Him as God or even give Him thanks. And they began to think up foolish ideas of what God was like. As a result, their minds became dark and confused.
Rom 1:22 Claiming to be wise, they instead became utter fools. Rom 1:25 They traded the truth about God for a lie. So they worshiped and served the things God created instead of the Creator Himself, who is worthy of eternal praise! Amen.
