SBC Preacher J D Greear on Gay Marriage

The mission of this blog is to help readers learn to identify true and false Christian preachers and teachers.

Another equally important purpose of this blog is to strengthen the biblical understanding of readers, and to encourage Bible reading and study.

If you are a Christian who regularly reads your Bible, then you know that God’s word enables you to more easily identify false teachers than you could before you were a Bible reader. The more familiar you are with God’s word, the easier it becomes to see false teachers.

This post demonstrates that a Christian CANNOT rest in the fact that he / she is under the authority of a biblical preacher, because preachers are human and they are impacted by culture… that is, they can become un-biblical; you are then in grave spiritual danger if you do not respond….

Your Christian growth / maturity, and possibly your salvation (if you are unconverted), depends upon you hearing the truth of God’s word. If your preacher begins to veer from that, into heresy, then you need to be able to confront him, and / or find another church….

The two videos in this post reveal the changes that took place in the doctrinal stance of SBC preacher, J D Greear between the years of 2014 and 2021. He flip-flopped from a biblical doctrinal stance to an un-biblical one. Greear was president of the SBC from 2018-2021.

In the initial video, from 2014, you will hear Pastors Voddie Baucham, Russell Moore and J D Greear discussing gay marriage. These men also say a lot about biblical marriage and what has happened via cultural influences.

Each man was pro-Bible in his doctrine.

In the second video, 2021, you will hear what J D Greear said then about gay marriage and homosexuality.

His doctrinal stance had become anti-Bible.

The second video offers sound advice to members of the SBC.

In his critique, he cited three authorities: Pastor Justin Peters, and Jim Osmond; and Dr Robert A J Gagnon, who authored, The Bible and Homosexual Practice.

In addition, he offered sound advice for members of SBC churches.

Note: the SBC has another huge doctrinal problem these days: some of the SBC churches have incorporated CRT into their theologies. They apparently do not understand that CRT is to Marxism, as yoga is to Hinduism, inseparable. Additionally, Marxists mock those who believe in God, believing that they hold to an illusory form of happiness….

There are various thoughts about what Marx meant when he called religion the opiate of the people, but he clearly thought that man could devise a real utopia, whereas religion was empty and could not help mankind, pitiable, laughable….

So, again, if you attend a church that is talking about intersectionality, social justice (instead of biblical justice), white privilege… then you need to run for the door; because they are cowering to society and dishonoring God; they cannot also be preaching the biblical saving gospel, though they may think they are doing so.

Voddie Baucham, J. D. Greear, and Russell Moore discuss one of the most complex and pressing questions of our day for Christians, “How Can Homosexuality Be Wrong if it Doesn’t Harm Anyone?”.

Recently, JD Greear made a stunning statement. The Southern Baptist leader stated that God whispers about carnal sins and shouts about materialism. In this video, I provide some thoughts on this troubling comment.
