The following 11 minute message by Dr. Beeke is aimed at encouraging believers and reminding them of their God given work in this earth.

Press on during discouraging times by considering the following:
- Our mission: We are instructed in God’s word to endure by abiding in His means of grace: prayer; reading the word; hearing preaching of the gospel; fellowship with believers; and taking the Lord’s supper
- The manner in which we are to endure: a) lay aside all sin: unbelief; bosom sins; all sins (that is the negative aspect of the race); b) run the race in the colosseum of the Christian life wherein all the OT and NT believers are cheering us on as we endure such hardships as they have borne
- Motivations to run: look to Jesus who showed us how to do it: a) he endured till the very end; b), He despised even the shame of the cross (thought it a little thing), because of the joy he looked forward to (presenting the redeemed to His Father); we too, must contemplate our own joy of everlasting glory
