Justification By Faith Alone

There are 5 short videos below, 4 on justification by faith alone and one which succinctly explains the reformed faith. If you are not quite sure what justification is, then listening to various preachers and teachers explain it should help you understand.

The following 4 minute video is by Dr. John Piper. He explains the doctrine such that new Christians should understand. This video is also one of the 5 in my Study Helps post, see Categories. That group of videos aims at explaining the faith to new Christians.

The next video, also 4 minutes, is by Dr. R. C. Sproul and explains justification differently, but adds to the above explanation.

The following 10 minute video is by Dr. C. Matthew McMahon and explains justification well, in addition to explaining a couple of related important biblical terms and some history of the reformation.

Dr. McMahon also explains justification in the following 3 minute video; it is included because he speaks about Jonathan Edwards, a great figure of the Christian faith in America.

The last video is 14 minutes long, therein, Dr. C. Matthew McMahon explains reformed theology in a nutshell. If you have no knowledge of the protestant reformation, then this is worth listening to for some basics.

STUDY RECOMMENDATIONS:

***If you are a new Christian, then please see, Categories: Study Helps post for a very brief checklist and several videos on faith and other aspects of the Christian faith.

***If you want to know more about justification by faith alone, the late Dr. R.C. Sproul has a free study at his site by that title. It takes 5 hours to listen through, but it provides a good understanding of the protestant reformation; how the Roman Church erred in their understanding of justification; much clarity on fine aspects of justification. It would be a good addition to your Christian library, the cd set is around $30 at Ligonier.org. Go there to listen for free, it is located within the “teaching series” section.
