John MacArthur | Vengeance is Coming

John MacArthur | Vengeance is Coming

YouTube site: Walking in Truth Ministry

In the excerpt below, Dr. MacArthur stated that there is a movement against God that is growing stronger in our world. He didn’t specifically describe that movement in this sermon.

[Marxism is such a godless system: it is opposed to religion, God, Christ and the church; and it replaces the living God with a lesser one, the state.

Marx called religion the opiate of the masses, which indicated that he would characterize anyone who believed in God as one who is not in his right mind and worse. So, IMHO, the godless movement is Marxism. And our nation is being swallowed up by it presently.

That is, two aspects of Marxism have been greatly used by the leftists in government to gain power over the masses: political correctness and CRT/CT.

Political correctness has such a hold on most Americans that they do the job of persecuting other citizens for Marxist leaders; that occurs via cancelling, doxing, shaming…. People don’t even realize that when they cancel and shame others, they are doing the work of the communist elite in this country.

The real shame should be experienced by anyone who subscribes to political correctness. They are a bunch of sheep following their communist leaders on the road to destruction. That will become clear as the following scenario described by Dr. MacArthur plays out.

Why so? Because to subscribe to PC, you must subscribe to Marxist tenets; that is, you become one of those who oppose Christ and His church and who worships the state, as the dictates of the PC mob derive from the state.

Even those Southern Baptist preachers who preach CRT, are taking a stand against Christ, His church and His word.]

Dr. MacArthur opened by noting that our culture is enamored with futuristic fantasy; but that God’s conception of the future is reality, and that reality is stated on the pages of scripture: he cited passages from Psalm 2; Isaiah 2 and 13; and Revelation 19.

Sermon highlights [bracketed statements are mine]:

*Today I will be telling you the future of the world as God has revealed it

*[NLT] Psalm 2: 1Why are the nations so angry? Why do they waste their time with futile plans? 2The kings of the earth prepare for battle; the rulers plot together against the LORD and against his anointed one. 3“Let us break their chains,” they cry, “and free ourselves from slavery to God.” 4But the one who rules in heaven laughs. The Lord scoffs at them. 5Then in anger he rebukes them, terrifying them with his fierce fury. 6For the Lord declares, “I have placed my chosen king on the throne in Jerusalem, on my holy mountain.” [Please refer to your Bible for the remaining verses.]

*We’re proceeding inexorably towards a global Anti-God, anti-scripture, anti-church movement

*The goal of that movement is to rip off the bonds of Christian influence

*The Lord laughs, He will establish His kingdom despite the rebellion of earthly kings

*His king, Christ, will rule with a rod of iron

*Earthly kings and all others should tremble and fear the Lord if they do not want to be crushed

*Isaiah 2:12-22 Verse 12 For the LORD of Heaven’s Armies has a day of reckoning. He will punish the proud and mighty and bring down everything that is exalted. [See your Bible for remaining verses.]

*Isaish 13:6-11 6 Scream in terror, for the day of the LORD has arrived—the time for the Almighty to destroy. 7Every arm is paralyzed with fear. Every heart melts, 8and people are terrified. Pangs of anguish grip them, like those of a woman in labor. [See your Bible for 9-11.]

*The Lord is a patient and merciful Savior, but He will not be mocked; the day of wrath will come

*Revelation 19:11-21 11Then I saw heaven opened, and a white horse was standing there. Its rider was named Faithful and True, for he judges fairly and wages a righteous war. 12His eyes were like flames of fire, and on his head were many crowns. A name was written on him that no one understood except himself. 13He wore a robe dipped in blood, and his title was the Word of God. 14The armies of heaven, dressed in the finest of pure white linen, followed him on white horses. 15From his mouth came a sharp sword to strike down the nations. He will rule them with an iron rod. He will release the fierce wrath of God, the Almighty, like juice flowing from a winepress. 16On his robe at his thigh was written this title: King of all kings and Lord of all lords. 17Then I saw an angel standing in the sun, shouting to the vultures flying high in the sky: “Come! Gather together for the great banquet God has prepared. 18Come and eat the flesh of kings, generals, and strong warriors; of horses and their riders; and of all humanity, both free and slave, small and great.” [See your Bible for verses 19-21]

*Revelation 19 gives a terrifying picture of Christ’s judgment.

*Christ came as a baby and ministered with mercy during His first coming; when He returns, He will bring physical and eternal death

*[The following text also describes the above scenario: 2 Thessalonians 1: when the Lord Jesus is revealed from heaven with his mighty angels 8 in flaming fire, inflicting vengeance on those who do not know God and on those who do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus.] [I wanted to cite this text because it specifies Christ’s motives for His wrath more clearly – it explains why He calls those He destroys, wicked.]

*The greatest of world rulers will be made bird food according to Rev. 19

*This destruction of the wicked / rebellious / unbelievers has been appointed by God, it will take place
