False Teachers – False Healings – Justin Peters and Doreen Virtue

Some false teachings seem to produce genuine healings, such as Christian Science, new age, reiki, shamanism, NAR, and hyper-charismatic word of faith teachers and false apostles and prophets. Justin Peters, who has endured cerebral palsy his entire life and wrote his Masters Thesis on this topic, explains these are often psychosomatic temporary healings, or spiritual warfare demons causing symptoms in order to lead people to false teachers. God still does healing miracles today, of course; however, it’s always according to his will. [From Doreen’s site]

Video HIGHLIGHTS:

  • Two types of healings: psychosomatic and organic
  • Psychosomatic healings are temporary and are caused by temporary rush of adrenalin, endorphins, emotions…
  • Contributing factors in these temporary healings: being in a room with 100s or 1000s of people who believe that the person on stage speaks with God; being subjected to emotionally charged music…
  • Those who experience psychosomatic healing actually feel better
  • In psychology, this experience is called the placebo effect – briefly discussed
  • [See the following 5-minute YouTube video for more on the placebo effect: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z03FQGlGgo0 ]
  • Organic healing is real healing that has a permanent effect, such as a man born blind being healed with the ability to see
  • Organic healings do not happen at faith healing meetings
  • From scripture, Justin explains how demons can be part of a person’s experience of false healing: they have the ability to cause illness and pain; if they want to cause a person to experience healing, all they have to do is to withdraw from that person
  • Why would a demon do such a thing?
  • To keep a person focused on temporal matters that have no spiritual significance: health, wealth and prosperity are all of the physical realm and hinder spirituality because they divert a person from the most serious matters of salvation of the soul
  • Justin noted several serious things that are not important to one seeking healing: the fundamentals of the gospel message; the cross; repentance; growth in the grace and knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ; sanctification…
  • Satan and his demons are happy for people to be religious, or to call themselves ‘Christian,’ as long as their focus is NOT on the important things above
  • Doreen gave a brief account of how that had occurred in her childhood spirituality

Note from Doreen: I have had comments turned off of all my videos since 2009 because I don’t have an assistant or moderator, and my schedule is super busy. You can reach me through direct instant messages at https://www.instagram.com/doreenvirtue/  Where I personally read and answer messages, albeit slowly because it’s just me without a staff. If I don’t answer right away, please write again and your letter will pop to the top.
