‘What Percent Of CDC Employees Are Vaccinated?’: Cassidy Grills Walensky At Senate Hearing

At today’s Senate Health Committee hearing, Sen. Bill Cassidy (R-LA) asked CDC Director Rochelle Walensky about her department’s vaccination rates.  [11-4-21] If you only want to hear her squirm and dance around the senator’s questions about her own department’s compliance with the vaccination mandate, start listening just before the 4 minute mark of this 7 minute video.  Dr. Walensky was clearly, skillfully avoiding providing true information to senator Cassidy, who asked very targeted and knowledgeable questions; I was happy to see that there are senators who are so competent.

Supreme Court Orders NY Court to Revisit Ruling Forcing Catholic Diocese to Cover Employee Abortions – Epoch Times

The Supreme Court granted the diocese’s petition for …review, on Nov. 1 and immediately vacated—without hearing oral arguments—the ruling of the New York court and remanded it to that court for further consideration in light of its pro-religious-freedom ruling earlier this year in Fulton v. Philadelphia. Apart from citing the previous ruling, the unsigned order didn’t provide reasons for the decision. In the Fulton ruling on June 17, the Supreme Court unanimously ruled that a Roman Catholic charity in Pennsylvania may refuse on religious-freedom grounds to place children with same-sex couples, as The Epoch Times previously reported. …In the case at hand, the New York State Department of Financial Services issued a regulation in 2017 requiring that employers fund abortions through their employee health insurance plans. The regulation exempted religious entities whose “purpose” is to inculcate religious values and who “employ” and “serve” primarily coreligionists.

Book Review: ‘Black Eye for America’: An Explanation of Critical Race Theory – Epoch Times

…CRT holds that a capitalist society sustains itself, in part, by imparting a “false consciousness” on workers to legitimize the social hierarchy and to reduce the likelihood of revolutionary action. The supposed harmful aspects of “whiteness” include individualism, self-reliance, two-parent homes, rational thinking, and a belief that hard work pays off. Members of minority groups must reject these white concepts even if these habits and activities promote community cohesion and individual well-being. As a consequence, CRT in schools teaches self-hate to white children and demeans children of color by denying them ownership of and control over their own lives. Racism is no longer defined as hating, demeaning, or devaluing others based on their race. Instead, all whites who do not support the ideas of CRT are considered racist by virtue of having “white” values.

Vaccine Mandate Violates Constitutional Rights: Pennsylvania Lawsuit – Epoch Times

A Pennsylvania lawsuit argues that receiving or declining a vaccine has become a political act, and when employers compel employees to get vaccinated, they are forcing employees to engage in political speech, a violation of the First Amendment, the freedom of speech. The suit was filed in October in federal court in the Eastern District of Pennsylvania by attorney Bruce L. Castor, Jr. of the law firm Van Der Veen, Hartshorn & Levin, on behalf of his clients Pennsylvania Informed Consent Advocates Inc., which is a recently organized group of employees of the University of Pennsylvania Health System (Penn Medicine), one of the largest employers in Pennsylvania.

DeSantis Introduces Election Integrity Bills to Go Before Legislature in Special Session – Epoch Times

Speaking to an enthusiastic crowd in West Palm Beach on Wednesday, he asked legislators to add four election integrity measures to the priorities for the special legislative session on Nov. 15-19. DeSantis wants to create an Office of Election Crimes and Security to investigate allegations of violations of Florida’s elections laws. The proposal would make that the largest election security office in the nation, with 25 sworn law enforcement officers and additional investigators. The office would be solely dedicated to investigating and prosecuting election crimes. The governor wants to elevate the crime of ballot harvesting from a misdemeanor to a third-degree felony. Ballot harvesting, which is legal in some states, involves a coordinated effort to collect and drop off absentee ballots. “The first person who gets caught—no one’s going want to do it again after that,” DeSantis said. [That is how such things are stated in the Bible]

Battle Over Critical Race Theory Pits Teacher Against Education System – Epoch Times

Rugg made her comments to a state Senate committee considering a measure to ban teaching critical race theory (CRT) in Michigan schools. “The public school system is indoctrinating and shaming our children and teachers. Critical race theory pits minority children against whites. It drives a wedge between parent and child,” said Rugg, who strongly supports banning CRT. New Hampshire School Boards Association Leaves National Organization Over Parent Controversy – Epoch Times

The National School Board Association (NSBA) recently sent a letter to the Biden administration’s Department of Justice that described the actions of parents protesting policies such as critical race theory or COVID-19 rules as the equivalence of “domestic terrorism.” …The controversy led lawmakers in Washington to discuss the matter with Garland this week. Republicans on the Judiciary Committee blasted the attorney general after he failed to rescind the letter or apologize regarding the matter. “Thank God you’re not on the Supreme Court,” Sen. Tom Cotton (R-Ark.) told Garland. “You should resign in disgrace.” The NSBA has since apologized for its letter.
