The following 4-minute video by Pastor Everhard praises Dr. John MacArthur for confronting current issues that impact the church. Pastor Matt also compared MacArthur to Solomon Stottard in terms of the quality and length of his ministry. [I often turn to MacArthur for his take on social events; he consistently stands for the Bible. I am trying to learn how to do that. If you are a biblical Christian, look to him for biblical guidance regarding social trends.]
The following 2-minute sermon excerpt by the YouTube site, 5 Minute Christianity, makes the point that an apostle was present when every miracle of the New Testament occurred. MacArthur went on to specify that people in the churches of Acts had no ‘gift of healing’ as scripture indicates that many suffered illnesses unto death; he said that healing was given as a sign to show unbelievers that the apostle’s teaching was credible…. [Therefore, what is MacArthur implying about modern-day healers?]
There is a straight line that runs from eugenics through infanticide to transhumanism. All three are the devil’s work in the material world. Let us explore the issue…. From biblical times to the present, there has been an ongoing battle between good and evil that has been waged through the centuries. On one side, there are those who believe in a higher power and that mankind was made in the image of God…. On the other side are those who deny the existence of God and believe that mankind is the supreme intelligence in control of human destiny, is malleable and can be shaped through science, and can evolve to a superior form of man through the planning and experimentation….
In the video of this post, Pastor Joel Webbon explains the difference between the Baptist 1689 confession subscribed to by Voddie Baucham and the Westminister Confession of Faith subscribed to by John MacArthur – regarding their eschatological views. He does that in the process of answering a question submitted by a viewer. The question contained several questions which had to be clarified by Webbon before he got to the main point. So the video is a bit longer than it might have been, but for listeners who are new to such topics, Webbon’s redundancy will likely be helpful.
Allie Beth Stuckey interview with John Mason, Co-founder of God First, Life Second. The topic of the title is explored via a biblical worldview vs a cultural one. Christians are encouraged to know what God expects of them regarding appearance and related matters. There is also a video short from John Mason’s site titled 4 reasons should stop dating by cultural standards.
In the 3-minute video of this post, John MacArthur talks about the origins and impact of the self-esteem cult on America. [I worked in the field of psychology for over 20 years before I was born again, and I have to say that after having become familiar with the contents of the Bible, his words are biblical and worthy of considering. One major reason a Christian’s worldview be as MacArthur described, is that Christ called us to deny self, not exalt self.]
The 22-minute video of this post was divided into equal parts to upload. On the video, the vlogger specifically answers the question, will Catholics go to hell. He initially provided a casual answer, but after a few moments, began a specific biblical answer. In the process, he compared Protestant Reformed faith and Catholicism, according to what they hold to be God’s doctrine of SALVATION. The Roman Catholic Church holds an unbiblical view.
The 13-minute video in this post discussed what a church looks like when it is becoming ‘woke.’ The vlogger used an article by Chantal Monique Duson, Racial Unity Advocate, as the basis of his video. The article provides many specific points that would enable one to ascertain woke-ness emerging. Duson received a lot of emails from people fearing that was happening to their church, her article was her response to typical questions raised. In the 25-minute mp4 of this post, Pastor Hines explains biblical covenant theology as it reveals God’s plan of redemption in the Old and New Testaments. You will find that it is wrong to say, “the Old Testament was law and the New, grace;” or, “we are living in the day of grace,” as though those in the Old Testament were not saved by grace also. Many Christians, who have not formed a habit of reading through their Bibles, err in that they think wrongly about the Old Testament saints, how they were saved by God.
This post contains a sermon by Pastor Patrick Hines on the history of dispensationalism. In the process of explaining that, he addresses the pre-millennial and a-millennial views of end times. That is the chief reason I am blogging his message. The next post in this mini series will be about covenant theology, which is about the history of redemption as viewed by way of Bible covenants. That theology undermines dispensationalist’s views about end times and about how God dispensed salvation to Israel and the church; as covenant theology believes that Israel was the church from the beginning, via Abraham.
