Hillsong Music is used as a gateway to bring people into Hillsong churches and Hillsong theology. In this video, I repeat some of the analysis on Hillsong Worship which has previously been provided by Justin Peters, Cameron Buettel and Jeremiah Johnson. Polite Leader also supplied a dozen other links to videos on false preachers.
“A Change is Coming” is a song with thought-provoking lyrics and music by Yulia and Patrick, the couple who formed The Temporary Residents, an Indie band that strives to craft sounds from different decades and classical traditions. “The Chinese Communist Party (CCP) has been severely persecuting the Chinese people since it came into power in 1949. We think it’s clear from recent events that we can see that the evil nature of the CCP is dragging the whole world down,” the artists told The Epoch Times. “Times are tough but at the same time if you can still hold on to your upright beliefs, they will help you weather ‘the storm.’”
The 4 minute song in this video is about abortion; it is sung from the perspective of the aborted child. The singers are The Deplorable Choir, they apparently chose that name because that is the name lefties call Trump supporters.
Psalm 34:8 is sung in this post; take a moment and sing along a few times, the words will lift you up; and you will likely enjoy the lovely voice of the vocalist. Matthew 7:11 is sung in a second video, in english and in indonesian.
Matthew David Montgomery plays a portion of Psalm 42 and also provides guitar instruction. His style is contemporary. The purpose of this post is to show that scripture can be sung in the worship service; and that it can be arranged in a contemporary style for those who don’t like the traditional or orthodox scripture singing styles. The great advantage of singing scripture is that you can be sure that God approves of the lyrics, He wrote them and His Spirit works via them. So many in the church today are being led astray by trendy sounding music like Hillsong; don’t be among them!

This post shows a congregation singing from the Book of Psalms for Worship. My purpose in posting it is to show that a church can sing from scripture; to show also that in singing from scripture one does not have to worry about being led astray by music like that sung by Hillsong and other man-centered forms of music. God’s word is God-centered; has correct doctrine that is approved by Him, its writer!
My purpose in posting Psalms recently is to show that scripture can be arranged in a contemporary manner; furthermore, all who sing and listen can be certain that they are hearing music that is approved by God, He wrote the lyrics. Hearers and singers can also be sure that the content is doctrinally sound and edifying. No one can say that about contemporary Christian music in general; some has a trace of doctrine….
