Spiked Online Editor Brendan O’Neill says the recent arrest of a 71-year-old pastor in the UK for alleged hate speech is a “vile assault on freedom of religion”. …“He was just reading from the Bible; he was citing the Bible’s definition … some people reported him for hate speech and then he was arrested in a pretty violent way. …“This is a vile assault on freedom of religion and a vile assault on freedom of speech.”
There are two very brief videos in the post, the first [25 seconds] is a clip of blatant shoplifting in California because they no longer charge thiefs with a felony unless the stolen items exceed $950; the second video [10 minutes] is about the hoards of people fleeing CA for various reasons stated in the video; those reasons include lenient laws; antipathy for faith-based groups and law-abiding citizens….
Republican state Sen. Jim Nielsen, who once headed the state parole board, criticized Gov. Gavin Newsom’s administration for unilaterally deciding to make the changes. “He’s doing it on his own authority, instead of the will of the people through their elected representatives or directly through their own votes,” Nielsen said. “This is what I call Newsom’s time off for bad behavior.
