It was then that she decided she needed to do something about what was being taught in her child’s school. “I see people fighting racism with more racism,” she said. “Critical race theory now is trying to take the children away from the parents to make them social justice warriors. CRT is Marxist ideology. And the last thing I want is my family to be breaking apart.” She used the time to write a speech protesting CRT at the next school board meeting. “CRT is racist. It is abusive. It discriminates against one’s color,” she told the Loudoun County school board on May 11. “Today, we don’t need your agreement. We want action and a backbone for what we asked for today: to ban CRT.” “You cannot tell me what is or is not racist. Look at me. I had to come down here today to tell you to your face that we are coming together. We are strong. This will not be the last greet and meet, respectfully,” Cooper said as she left the podium. The video of her speech went viral.

Janet Turney-Giles and Gina Patterson, president and executive director of the VSBA, said in a memo to all school board members that the decision to end the membership, effective June 30, 2022, was “made in response to a persistent pattern of dysfunction within the NSBA organization and among those charged with its governance.” “The VSBA board of directors no longer has faith in NSBA’s ability to effectively represent the interests of our state association and its members,” …The board said in an executive summary that it has directed the executive director to work with other state associations to create a new national organization “to meet the federal advocacy and other needs of its member school boards in a manner that values community ownership through local school board governance and engagement of students, families, and other community stakeholders.”

A leaked audio recording revealed California teachers mocking parents over concerns about homosexual and transgender indoctrination at school, said a source who attended a recent teachers union conference in Palm Springs. The recording, obtained by The Epoch Times, captured two seventh-grade teachers, Kelly Baraki and Lori Caldeira from Buena Vista Middle School in Salinas, Calif., telling other teachers how to recruit students into LGBTQ clubs, also known as “Gay-Straight Alliance” (GSA) clubs, at school. “It was horrifying to listen to not just one teacher but really all of the teachers in all of these seminars, excoriating parents,” said the source, who goes by the pseudonym Rebecca Murphy.

A group of leading Republicans on Wednesday introduced a “parents’ bill of rights,” saying that Democrats have recently started to take power away from parents and hand over more control to politicians and teachers unions to “dictate what our children should be taught in classrooms.” …A fact sheet released by McCarthy outlines five rights that should be guaranteed to parents that make up the main principles of the legislation. These include the right to know what is being taught in public schools and to see reading material, the right to be heard, the right to see school budgets and spending, the right to protect their child’s privacy, and the right to be updated on any violent activity at school.

That 10 percent figure is far higher than past estimates, such as a 2017 government survey of U.S. high school students, in which only 1.8 percent said they identified as transgender. …While each of the three families in this story come from different backgrounds and live in different states, each of their newly self-identified transgender children have some things very much in common. They are all in the same age group, they are all socially awkward, and all have been diagnosed with some form of social or psychological disorder.

California Parents Blast School Boards for Linking Criticism of CRT With Domestic Terrorism – Epoch Times

The National School Boards Association (NSBA), which denies CRT is being taught in K-12 schools, in a Sept. 29 letter (pdf) said parents at local school board meetings opposed to CRT and mask mandates are contributing to a “growing number of threats of violence and acts of intimidation occurring across the nation” and asked President Joe Biden’s administration to address the issue. The NSBA letter states: “As these acts of malice, violence, and threats against public school officials have increased, the classification of these heinous actions could be the equivalent to a form of domestic terrorism and hate crimes.”

Or this could affect how we grade you and your job performance.’ It seems like it will lead to firing if they need to.” …“What we’re doing is we’re shining the light on what this board is doing. This board has had a secret enemies list. And the enemies list is designed to intimidate and to punish people who stand up against critical race theory and who stand up against this transgender madness that’s going on,” Black told The Epoch Times. “So anyway, I gave my speech. And when I gave the speech, everybody just went crazy. And the board retreated.”
