Blackouts Loom in California as Electricity Prices Are ‘Absolutely Exploding’ – Epoch Times Commentary

Two inexorable energy trends are underway in California: soaring electricity prices and ever-worsening reliability—and both trends bode ill for the state’s low- and middle-income consumers. Last week, the state’s grid operator, the California Independent System Operator, issued a “flex alert” that asked the state’s consumers to reduce their power use “to reduce stress on the grid and avoid power outages.” CAISO’s warning of impending electricity shortages heralds another blackout-riddled summer at the same time California’s electricity prices are skyrocketing. …The surging cost of electricity will increase the energy burden being borne by low- and middle-income Californians. …The report projected that residents living in hotter regions (that is, those who can’t afford to live close to the coast) who get their electricity from San Diego Gas & Electric could see their monthly power bills increase by 47 percent between now and 2030. …The state’s surging energy costs demonstrate the regressive nature of decarbonization policies and how renewable-energy mandates drive up the price of power.

Budd Amendment Would Strip 1,474 Earmarks Worth $5.6 Billion from House Infrastructure Bill: Epoch Times

Rep. Ted Budd (R-N.C.) introduced an amendment to House Democrats’ “INVEST in America Surface Transportation and Infrastructure Act” that would strip out $5.6 billion worth of earmarks sought by members of both political parties. “Taxpayers across the country are getting their first look at what Washington is like in the new earmark era. It’s not a pretty sight. This transportation spending bill includes 1,474 examples of the Washington Swamp saying they know best when it comes to spending taxpayer dollars,” Budd said in a statement announcing his amendment. …Coburn, whose Senate nickname was “Senator No” because he was such a renowned opponent of waste, fraud, and corruption in federal spending, exposed the $223 million earmark known as the “Bridge to Nowhere,” which would connect Alaska’s Ketchikan, a town of 8,900 residents, with the island of Gravina. The island, which has an airport, had 50 residents at the time.

MSNBC guest host Zerlina Maxwell, for example, said last week that CRT “refers to the study of structural racism and it’s not taught until college or graduate school, law school. It’s a law school class, everybody …. So, let’s start by making it completely crystal clear at the top of this interview, that critical race theory is not taught before law school.” …It’s telling how adamant the Left is about CRT only being taught in law school. Evidently, they know how bad it would look for CRT to be taught to younger kids. Which of course is happening across the county. …Parents don’t want their children learning CRT—and are increasingly willing to say so publicly.

Once a relatively quiet region for illegal border crossings, the Del Rio Sector in Texas is now the second busiest, after the Rio Grande Valley in south Texas.
“We’ve seen a tremendous increase. So far this year, this fiscal year, today, we’ve caught 144,000 people in the Del Rio sector,” said sector chief Austin Skero on June 24. “We’ve gone through this before—we’ve seen these increases, these surges, for the last 30 or 40 years. It’s never been this bad. I’ll tell you that straight up, I’ve never seen it this bad.” Skero said the sector has seen a 1,400 percent increase in the number of sex offenders arrested by Border Patrol agents. …“I have four daughters—does it concern me when you say there’s a 1,400 percent increase in sex offenders? Yes, it concerns me,” the resident said during a border update on June 24. …Abbott and Arizona Gov. Doug Ducey also issued a call for help to other governors on June 10.

The polls are unanimous in indicating that the public realizes they did not inherit a mess; they inherited the almost complete end of illegal immigration and they squandered it instantly and jubilantly by effectively inviting the world to enter while having the hapless Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas repeat like a Disney World self-propelled puppet “The border is closed.” …Even more urgent than the surging immigration and imminent inflation crises is the entirely predictable and much predicted crime wave. Violent crime is up everywhere and especially in Democratic-governed cities that cravenly bowed to the outrageous demands in the “peaceful protests” of last summer that injured 2000 police personnel, killed approximately 50 people, and caused over $2 billion of property damage.

Why not?
Marxism is in direct opposition to any belief in God; it is definitely Anti-God, Anti-Christ, anti-family, anti-freedom, anti-property rights…; those are the highpoints. You cannot support a communist organization such as BLM, Freedom Road Socialist Organization; the CCP Progressive Association…and at the same time stand for the opposite (unless you do not understand what Marxism is about, and in that case, you only thought that you could do such a thing, out of your own ignorance about Marxism).

They were benefiting from forced labor or sourcing from suppliers that were suspected of using forced labor,” Rubio said on June 10. “These companies, sadly, were making all of us complicit in these crimes.”
Rights groups, researchers, former residents, and some Western lawmakers say that Xinjiang authorities have facilitated forced labor by arbitrarily detaining around one million Uyghurs and other primarily Muslim minorities in a network of camps since 2016. Sophie Richardson, China director for Human Rights Watch, told the Senate panel that Beijing’s “extreme repression and surveillance” made human rights due diligence impossible for companies.
