I can’t escape COVID restrictions. Irrespective of my vaccination status, my personal risk profile, or my individual desires, they follow me everywhere. I live in New York City. I can’t go into a subway, coffee shop, gym, museum, restaurant, or college class without confronting them. That 10 percent figure is far higher than past estimates, such as a 2017 government survey of U.S. high school students, in which only 1.8 percent said they identified as transgender. …While each of the three families in this story come from different backgrounds and live in different states, each of their newly self-identified transgender children have some things very much in common. They are all in the same age group, they are all socially awkward, and all have been diagnosed with some form of social or psychological disorder.

After Mayor Bill de Blasio’s announcement of a vaccine mandate for city workers, police union heads say they will take legal actions to oppose the mandate and protect the rights of their employees. On Wednesday, de Blasio said any city worker who is not vaccinated with at least the first dose of the vaccine by 5 p.m. on Oct. 29 will be put on unpaid leave, prompting police unions to fight back. Police Benevolent Association President Patrick J. Lynch said in a statement Thursday that his organization will go to court to protect his employees’ right to make their own medical decisions.
Border Patrol agents apprehended a total of 1,666,167 illegal immigrants along the southwest border in fiscal 2021—breaking all records since 1925 after the agency was formed (when 22,199 illegal aliens were arrested). …In January, Biden paused deportations, stopped border wall construction, halted the Remain in Mexico program, repurposed Immigration and Customs Enforcement priorities, and reversed the ban on travel from terror-prone countries. In December 2020, Trump’s last full month in office, Border Patrol agents arrested almost 74,000 illegal immigrants on the southern border. By July, that had almost tripled to 213,500.
Arizona Attorney General Mark Brnovich filed an amended complaint Friday in an effort to end President Joe Biden’s vaccine mandates. Brnovich asked the U.S. District Court in Arizona to grant a temporary restraining order and nationwide preliminary injunction as soon as possible to protect workers forced to take the COVID-19 vaccine or be fired. “Once a vaccine has been administered, it can never be undone,” Brnovich said in a statement. …“The COVID-19 vaccine mandate is one of the greatest infringements upon individual liberty, federalism, and the separation of powers by any administration in our country’s history…”
VThe Italian government imposed one of the world’s strictest COVID-19 measures on Friday, requiring all workers in Italy to show a COVID-19 “Green Pass” prior to entering their place of employment. Starting on Oct. 15, the new rule will make it obligatory for employees to show that they have been vaccinated against the CCP (Chinese Communist Party) virus, which causes COVID-19, before returning to their workplaces. A recent negative test or having recovered from COVID-19 in the past six months is also allowed. Workers who are not in possession of the so-called Green Pass will be suspended without pay and face a fine of between 600 and 1,500 euros ($695 to $1,730) if they try and continue to work. However, according to provisions of the measure, the mandate stipulates that employees cannot be terminated from their job. The new rule will be effective until the end of the year.
