The Western church presently lives in a time of much sexual confusion. Rev. Christopher Gordon has produced a helpful tool to assist Christians in becoming well-grounded in the biblical teaching on human sexuality. The New Reformation Catechism on Human Sexuality uses the time-tested method of catechesis to teach essential truths from God’s Word regarding sexual issues. The editors of Tabletalk interviewed Rev. Gordon shortly after the catechism was produced, as we believe it is a good tool for Christians to use as they endeavor to obey God’s Word.
This post contains C H Spurgeon’s Morning and Evening thoughts for May 3rd. Spurgeon’s morning verse is, “In the world ye shall have tribulation” — John_16:33; via this verse, he talks about the furnace of affliction that is necessary to conform the believer into the image of Christ. His evening verse is, “A very present help” — Psalm_46:1. His focus is on encouraging believers to appropriate covenant graces to aid in their struggles.

In the course of his explanation, Nichols provided basic teaching on modernism, liberalism, the Scopes monkey trial, and Christian fundamentalism…. If you know nothing of these things, you should hear this video because it will give you insight into origins of current struggles in the church. The second video, 7-minutes, is an answer to a question submitted to Ligonier Ministries. This video is also on Machen but is more of an overview and covers different things.
I have never heard of enneagrams, but if you attend a trendy Christian church, you may have. If that is the case, then please listen to this 10-minute video by a biblical Christian pastor. He goes through the process of ‘testing the spirits’ regarding the enneagram. You will learn about from where, whom it derives; whether it is biblical…. If you would know more, the following link is to a video interview at Doreen Virtue’s YouTube site, the topic is ‘Why I Quit Using The Enneagram.’ In case you do not know Doreen, she was a New Age guru, having written much and spoke much to audiences on the New Age. She was converted to Christianity about a decade or so ago and speaks against all those things today.

Pink used quotations from several Spurgeon sermons to clarify various aspects of the doctrine; I thought his presentation was very understandable. If you don’t know much about this doctrine, which is a foundation stone of God’s plan of redemption, as found on the pages of scripture, then please sample the videos.
