Morning and Evening Thoughts C H Spurgeon [framed in terms of the last day of the year]
MORNING: Based on John 7:37: …Proclamation is made most freely, that every thirsty one is welcome. No other distinction is made but that of thirst. Whether it be the thirst of avarice, ambition, pleasure, knowledge, or rest, he who suffers from it is invited. The thirst may be bad in itself, and be no sign of grace, but rather a mark of inordinate sin longing to be gratified with deeper draughts of lust; but…. EVENING: “The harvest is past, the summer is ended, and we are not saved.” — Jer_8:20 Not saved! Dear reader, is this your mournful plight? …Years have followed one another into eternity, and your last year will soon be here: youth has gone, manhood is going, and yet you are not saved….
Proverbs 2:1-6 Charles Bridges Commentary
To me, the following scripture passage gives much direction and encouragement about how and why to study the word of God. As we get ready to enter into a new year, these words may be the encouragement you need to more consistently meet with God there. Charles Bridges’ commentary makes this passage very clear: Proverbs 2:1-6 [KJV]
The Apostates’ Doom – A. W. Pink / Studies in the Scriptures / Christian Audio Books
A W Pink considers Hebrews 10:26-31 in discussing the apostate’s doom. He discusses how preachers had watered down that [and all] scripture in his day [he died in 1952]. They promised believers that if they had accepted Christ [signed a card; uttered the sinner’s prayer…] that their eternal future was secure…. He discussed a three erroneous takes on this passage by Arminians, over-zealous Calvinists; he called out the dispensationalists for “trifling with God’s word.” He aimed to present a biblical take on the passage and seemed to do so. It is an important message for all Christians in this day of far greater heresy and apostasy than in the 1950s. I recommend reading the preceding post on the impact of Christian Liberalism on the church before this post. Video is 43 minutes with a long list of highlights beforehand
The Decline of Protestant Christianity in the early 20th century has impacted you today
This post is a crash-course in the decline of the Christian church since the late 19th century. The purpose herein is to help you assess the quality of your own faith as you come understand the unbiblical impact of Christian Liberalism. The first two videos surround a figure of the Presbyterian church in the early 20th century, J Gresham Machen. [Although Machen was a Presbyterian, his fight against the unbiblical movement of Christian liberalism is relevant to the whole of Christianity.] Two posts from this blog are linked because they provide necessary information about unbiblical evangelism and C H Spurgeon’s fight against liberalism, narrated by John MacArthur.

‘Worst in History’: Critics Rip $1.7 Trillion Government Funding Bill – Epoch Times
In yet another last-minute attempt to avoid a government shutdown, both the Senate and the House approved a massive $1.7 trillion spending bill, which has frustrated many, including commentators, policy experts, and the general public. …Some Republicans and conservative media outlets have also voiced their disapproval of the spending package, claiming that the government is using tax dollars for woke initiatives. Among the projects criticized were $3 million for the American LGBTQ+ Museum in New York City, $3.6 million for a Michelle Obama Trail in Georgia, $477,000 for the Equity Institute in Rhode Island, and $1.2 million for LGBTQIA+ Pride Centers. …The bill also included $410 million for border security in Jordan, Lebanon, Egypt, Tunisia, and Omen, which has sparked criticism. “What utter insanity that tens of billions are being spent for border security of other countries, but none for ours!!” Musk wrote on Twitter.

3 Common Long COVID Symptoms, Low-Cost Remedies Recommended by Doctors – Epoch Times
“In our experience treating over 500 patients with PCC,” said Becker, who also runs the UC Davis Health Post-COVID-19 Clinic, “The most common symptoms [of PCC] are fatigue, post-exercise exhaustion, shortness of breath, and chest pain.” Studies also show that brain fog and loss of taste or smell are also commonly seen among these patients. …However, Teitelbaum believes chronic fatigue syndrome after COVID is treatable, and research he co-authored found that a commonly available root extract could help. Previous studies have found that a unique Panax ginseng root extract called Korean red ginseng, often resulted in improvement for people living with chronic fatigue syndrome.
