This post opens with the plight that many believers find themselves in, that their continued vows to stop sinning always fail. That scenario is clearly described, and a remedy is indicated. The Biden administration is turning into the funeral pyre of the American left. Historians of the future will deduce who was responsible for converting the Biden–Sanders unity program, designed as the most socialistic that could be sold to the voters, into an outright, far left, suicide note for the Democratic Party as it had been known since the days of Franklin D. Roosevelt. …Apart from that mad excursion, the Democrats have held to the old Roosevelt coalition of the working class, the working press, the African-Americans, Latin Americans, and any other voters identified with ethnic minorities, the academics including the teachers, and a healthy chunk of the middle class. After only 14 months, the Biden administration has insulted almost all of the core elements of its support and discredited all of its principal “progressive” policies.
On the precipice of the regime-defining 2020 presidential election, Facebook and Twitter committed their “Pearl Harbor attack” against the incumbent president, Donald Trump, and in dutiful favor of the regnant regime’s favored candidate, Joe Biden. In an October move that would presage the collapse of the “public”–”private” distinction during the Biden presidency—as seen in press secretary Jen Psaki’s open bragging last summer of collusion with Mark Zuckerberg to censor COVID “misinformation,” and Eric Schmidt’s recently revealed role helping shape administration science policy—Big Tech oligarchs dropped the hammer on the New York Post, a high-circulation newspaper, for its reporting on Hunter Biden’s now-infamous “laptop from hell.” The laptop’s files demonstrated the notoriously troubled Hunter’s venality, abuses of power, and general sketchiness of his foreign dealings….

When you compare The Message to formal and dynamic Bible translations, Eugene Peterson’s book falls short. And no wonder, as The Message was hurriedly created by one man instead of the theological committees which faithfully translate biblical manuscripts from the original Hebrew, Greek, and Aramaic languages. Dave Jenkins of Servants of Grace ministry, shows that The Message often teaches differently than God’s Word, and so should be marked and avoided.

The purpose of this post is to add some clarity to the concept of the ‘armor of God’ as the apostle Paul spoke of it in Ephesians 6. I recently came to a simpler understanding of it via listening to a couple of sermons of John Calvins and reading his commentary on 6:10-18. … Before writing this, I read through Calvin’s commentary on that passage of Ephesians 6, to ascertain that I heard him correctly. Excerpts from Calvin’s commentary will be used to make my point below, after I define ‘God’s appointed means of grace’ for those who do not know specifically what those are.
The Clinton campaign and the DNC agreed to pay a combined $113,000 to the Federal Election Commission (FEC), according to documents made public on March 30, after the commission found probable cause that the entities had violated federal law by describing payments that ultimately went to the Fusion GPS research group as going toward legal services and consulting. Fusion used the funds, funneled through the Perkins Coie law firm, to pay for the compilation of a dossier riddled with unsubstantiated claims saying that Trump and his campaign had ties to Russian actors ahead of the 2016 election. …The operation “was done to create … a hoax funded by the DNC and the Clinton campaign,” Trump said. “This corruption is only beginning to be revealed, is un-American, and must never be allowed to happen again.”
