Tucker Carlson interviewed the leader of the Satanic Temple, Lucien Greaves, about the Satanic after-school club newly started in Illinois. Greaves noted that via involvement in that club, students could learn benevolence, empathy and personal sovereignty. He also noted that the club was within the limits of the law and the constitution while also permitted via free speech and religious liberties. Tucker Carlson raised valid concerns with which many parents will likely agree.

The Battle with the Devil, R.C. Sproul
In the video of this post, R C Sproul explains the origins of contemporary Christianity’s unbelief in a personal devil, even though Christ spoke of this creature frequently and solemnly. He also sheds light on the term anti-Christ, its lesser known meaning. Christians ought to believe the Bible and Christ’s words about the nature of the Evil One
Proverbs 15:19 From Charles Bridges’ Commentary
The following commentary on Proverbs 15:19 is from Charles Bridges commentary on Proverbs. A week or so ago, while doing my morning reading, I was moved to explore commentaries on this verse, Bridges had the most meaningful comments on it. I have read over his comments several times since then, because I was convicted by his words and needed to hear them and understand this problem better. Furthermore, Bridges words refocused my attention towards God, and thereby gave hope.

Are You Fighting? – J. C. Ryle / Christian Audio Sermons
True Christians fight the good fight of faith. J C Ryle explains the necessity of the fight, the fight, and terms such as faith and belief. The sermon is more detailed than other accounts I have read or heard. If you are trying to enter into this warfare, or are already in it and want clarification…then you will likely find his words beneficial. I consider the sermon an answer to prayer for help in this area. [This post includes a list of highlights from the mp4 sermon]
Having begun by the Spirit, are you now being perfected by the flesh? Galatians 3:3
The apostle Paul’s comments to the Galatians in 3:3-5, Are you so foolish? Having begun by the Spirit, are you now being perfected by the flesh? And Proverbs 2:1-5, particularly verse 5, are used, along with a comment from the diary of Jonathan Edwards that provides an experiential comprehension of Gal. 3:3, to discuss that very common problem that Paul confronted so long ago. This post is an isolated moment, or a meditation from my ongoing struggle with sin and learning to walk with the Lord
Q & A by Dr. John MacArthur on College and Covid
Apparently, Dr. MacArthur was asked by questions by students contemplating college; in the process of sharing his thoughts on the matter of college, he provided an illustration that included remarks about Covid and why people are reluctant to take vaccinations. If you want insight about the above topics, then the following 8 minute video will be worth hearing:
Spiritual Warfare: 2 Corinthians 10: 3-5
This post reviews the ideas of tearing down strongholds, via spiritual weapons from 2 Corinthians 10: 3-5. Highlights from commentator Albert Barnes were copied and pasted to clarify the important parts of this passage. I was reviewing the text for my own benefit and thought I’d do a post on it because, although it is an extremely important text, the Bible is big and there are many things that deserve contemplation; and it is easy to forget to apply such concepts in one’s daily warfare unless they become very familiar out of application – so this is an opportunity to refresh your memory of this passage
What Does The Holy Spirit’s Intercession Look Like In Our Daily Life?
There are several posts from this blog linked to this post because they are directly related to the last post about how the Holy Spirit helps the weak. These linked posts are about the following: the five stage struggle of faith developed by Jonathan Edwards; instruction about self-observation, examination, journaling…from Jonathan Edwards; instruction in basic doctrines such as justification and faith; and lastly, some basic instruction on God’s purpose in affliction; and spiritual disciplines that help Christians deal with the aforementioned
