The apostle Paul’s comments to the Galatians in 3:3-5, Are you so foolish? Having begun by the Spirit, are you now being perfected by the flesh? And Proverbs 2:1-5, particularly verse 5, are used, along with a comment from the diary of Jonathan Edwards that provides an experiential comprehension of Gal. 3:3, to discuss that very common problem that Paul confronted so long ago. He explains sin, repentance, faith in terms of how it looks in a person’s real-life experience. He talks briefly about the preachers who lead people onto the broad way of destruction and the kinds of beliefs that keep one there and he contrasts those beliefs with biblical truth
Pastor Kenneth Stewart sermon on Psalm 90 talks about the sin of unbelief, how Israel was chastised; God’s purpose in chastening; how we ought to receive it; meditation being the source of prayer. Sermon highlights are provided to give one a sense of what Stewart’s 48 minute sermon contains. I listened to it 4 times over the past several days because I thought it to be very beneficial.
The following brief video is by Polite Leader; it explains the contemporary seeker sensitive church movement. He mentions several well known seeker sensitive mega church pastors, but his chief purpose is to explain the fundamentals of the movement so you might recognize them when you encounter them in your neighborhood. Additionally, there are links to related articles on preachers that were discussed.

Progressive Christianity derived from emergent Christianity; they believe that Christianity progresses and therefore they are okay with feminism, LGBTQ, CRT etc. There are two brief videos in this post, the first provides more details about Progressive Christianity, and the second talks about one aspect of it, the myth of the Hero’s Journey
The video is a compilation of preachers talking about the ‘gospel’ of God. If you have been a little fuzzy on what the term ‘gospel’ means, then you should have a clearer definition of it by the time you finish reading the sermon highlights and listening to the 23 minute video. …The video opens with Steven Furtick preaching his gospel; following him, R. C. Sproul concisely defines the gospel; then Voddie Baucham gives a lengthier and fuller definition; Dr. MacArthur follows Baucham with a brief definition and the video closes with Dr. S. Lawson saying a few things about the gospel. [Sermon highlights are given for those who do not have 23 minutes to listen to the great video]
Dr. MacArthur began a series on the return of Christ and the real justice that will then be experience by dwellers on the earth. Those not in Christ, will not want to experience that justice. He discussed numerous chapters of Revelation, in part, during the course of this 28 minute sermon. If you are not very familiar with Revelation, then this sermon will give you an overview of sorts. Furthermore, he wants to refocus Christians who are wasting their energy thinking about fixing this planet and establishing man’s justice; because all of that will be undone when Christ returns. For those who do not have 28 minutes to spend, sermon highlight points precede the sermon.
This post reviews the ideas of tearing down strongholds, via spiritual weapons from 2 Corinthians 10: 3-5. Highlights from commentator Albert Barnes were copied and pasted to clarify the important parts of this passage. I was reviewing the text for my own benefit and thought I’d do a post on it because, although it is an extremely important text, the Bible is big and there are many things that deserve contemplation; and it is easy to forget to apply such concepts in one’s daily warfare unless they become very familiar out of application – so this is an opportunity to refresh your memory of this passage
“In the book of Genesis, the book of beginnings, we see the first game of hide and seek. Adam and Eve hid from God in the Garden because they realized they were naked, and because of that knowledge they were ashamed. In this case, their nakedness was more than skin-deep. However, God has since remedied the problem. Dr. Sproul thinks of this account as he discusses the institution of marriage as a safe-haven where shame need not exist.”
