How Dare We Say That We Know God? Tabletalk Magazine – Rev. Matthew S. Miller

The Scriptures do not tout our ability to know God but rather God’s ability to reveal Himself to the creatures He has made. Jesus declares, “I thank you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that you have hidden these things from the wise and understanding and revealed them to little children; yes, Father, for such was your gracious will” (Matt. 11:25–26). …the agnostic’s claim that we cannot know God even if He exists rests on a claim that is not humble at all, for he proudly asserts what God cannot do (reveal Himself to His creatures)….

They Claim to Hear the Voice of God, But Do They?

The video in this post is by vlogger John Henry, it is about ‘hearing the voice of God.’ During the video, he recorded the statements of 3 biblical preachers about the matter: MacArthur, Johnson, and Peters. The Rich Man and Lazarus – Luke 16:19-31 – R C Sproul

“There is no bridge from hell to heaven. Once this life comes to an end, it is too late to repent of sin and look to Christ for mercy. In this sermon, R.C. Sproul continues his sermon series in the gospel of Luke by examining one of Jesus’ most sobering parables.” The parable of the rich man and Lazarus, Luke 16:19-31. Sermon points are provided for this 32-minute sermon.

Morning and Evening by C H Spurgeon for February 28 [BY FAITH, Part 1 of 2]

I was about to type the points for Pastor Ramsey’s sermon, “BY FAITH,” and as I opened my E-sword Bible program, this devotional appeared as usual. Today, it happened to be about faith, so I thought I would post it too, before I post his sermon, as I have yet to type the points. Spurgeon’s two separate messages emphasized biblical faith, Pastor Ramsey’s sermon, the next post, describes, clarifies, emphasizes… the role of faith in the Christian life.

A Study Of Selected Verses From Proverbs 5 and 7

In Proverbs 5:5 and 6, Solomon talked about how the harlot leads one from the path of life – she has no concern for it, and will lead you from it by her wiles; and in Proverbs 7, he made a statement that she will lead a man down the path to death like an ox is led to the slaughter – he doesn’t know he is going to his death…. Some excerpts from commentaries are used to give significance and clarification to these verses and a couple from Hosea

10 Things You Should Know About The Book of Revelation

This post contains a 13-minute video written and read by author Nancy Guthrie. It is about her recent book, Blessed: Experiencing the Promise of the Book of Revelation. The 10 points she enumerated may help you in your endeavors to read and understand the book of Revelation. Her points are an overview of sorts, providing a context for the contents of Revelation. A major point I appreciated is her points dealing with how to live this life based on Revelation: certainly not like the majority of Christianity is living today

PSALM 63:3 Because your steadfast love is better than life, my lips will praise you.

The following commentary on Psalm 63:3, by The Expositor’s Bible Commentary, speaks of the rewards of seeking God fervently. The commentary on the entire Psalm is pasted in for those who might want to read it. As encouragement to do so, check out the one sentence with which MacArthur’s commentary described 63:3:   better than life. God’s covenant love is more valuable to David than life itself (cf. Php_1:21; Act_20:24). Those verses: Philippians 1:21  For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.  Acts 20:24  But I do not account my life of any value nor as precious to myself, if only I may finish my course and the ministry that I received from the Lord Jesus, to testify to the gospel of the grace of God.  The words from Expositor’s commentary are a wonderful read that fill out the understanding regarding those two verses.
