Belief in a higher power is anathema to the atheist Chinese Communist Party (CCP) that for 100 years has sought to command absolute loyalty and control over its members and the Chinese people. “They just cannot handle an allegiance other than to the state,” Sam Brownback, former U.S. Ambassador-at-Large for International Religious Freedom, told The Epoch Times. As a result, successive Party leaders have launched campaign after campaign to crush and control people of faith in China. Mao Zedong, the first CCP leader, who oversaw one of the most thorough campaigns to dismantle Chinese religious life, compared religion to “poison” in a conversation with Tibet’s exiled leader, the Dalai Lama. In his autobiography, the Dalai Lama recalls Mao telling him in 1954 that religion “undermines the race” and “retards the progress of the country.”

So, let’s start by making it completely crystal clear at the top of this interview, that critical race theory is not taught before law school.” …It’s telling how adamant the Left is about CRT only being taught in law school. Evidently, they know how bad it would look for CRT to be taught to younger kids. Which of course is happening across the county. …Parents don’t want their children learning CRT—and are increasingly willing to say so publicly.

Rights groups, researchers, former residents, and some Western lawmakers say that Xinjiang authorities have facilitated forced labor by arbitrarily detaining around one million Uyghurs and other primarily Muslim minorities in a network of camps since 2016. Sophie Richardson, China director for Human Rights Watch, told the Senate panel that Beijing’s “extreme repression and surveillance” made human rights due diligence impossible for companies.

Mark Lee Dickson, the head with Right To Life of East Texas and founder of the Sanctuary Cities for the Unborn initiative, told Life News that the vote is “a victory for the unborn” as well as for women who received abortions when they were younger but regretted it. She cited Levelland resident Kati Morris’s testimony. Morris, who helped lead the effort in Levelland, told Texas Scorecard: “I had an abortion many years ago, 30 miles away in Lubbock, and that abortion devastated my life … Abortion does not help women, it destroys women and takes the life of their children. What community needs that as an option for the people of their community?” …The nearby city of Lubbock approved a similar ordinance on May 1. Planned Parenthood challenged Lubbock’s ordinance in court, which was dismissed by U.S. District Judge James Wesley Hendrix, who argued that Planned Parenthood lacked jurisdiction.

More than 73 percent of bishops—or 168 to 55 with six abstentions—this week cast their ballots during a U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) conference to report on the meaning of the Eucharist in the church. The move could potentially set up the denial of communion to Biden, Pelosi, and other elected officials who are Catholic. …Bishop Donald Hying of Madison, Wisconsin, said on Thursday that many Catholics are confused about a president who attends Mass regularly but supports “the most radical pro-abortion agenda in history.”

A lot of white people who are forced into CRT-based training, and forced to confess to being racist because of their race, do not realize that they are protected by the Civil Rights Act of 1964 that prohibits discrimination on the basis of race, color, national origin, religion, and disability, explained the retired professor. …White people are protected in the same way that black people are by civil rights laws, she said. “We’re not a country where it’s acceptable to bully and shame people because of the color of their skin.”
