DeSantis Signs Bill Requiring High Schools to Observe ‘Victims of Communism Day’ – Epoch Times

“We want to make sure that every year folks in Florida, but particularly our students, will learn about the evils of communism, the dictators that have led communist regimes, and the hundreds of millions of individuals who suffered and continue to suffer under the weight of this discredited ideology,” DeSantis said Monday morning. The Victims of Communism organization has estimated that communist regimes have caused the deaths of at least 100 million people via political purges, religious persecutions, mass starvation, and other crimes against humanity during the 20th century. Chief among those regimes is the CCP, which is believed to have left around 80 million Chinese people dead.

CA Bill Allowing Killing of 1-Month-Old Newborn Babies Passes State Senate: AB 2223

California bill AB 2223 passed the Assembly Health Committee in an 11-3 vote late Tuesday night, The Mercury News reports.
The bill removes criminal liability from mothers in relation to “all pregnancy outcomes” including the death of a newborn for any reason during the period following birth, according to the official Senate analysis of the legislation prepared by State Senate Legislative Director Alison Merrilees. The bill “could be interpreted to immunize a pregnant person from all criminal penalties for all pregnancy outcomes,” the analysis reads, “including the death of a newborn for any reason during the ‘perinatal’ period after birth.” …The Right to Life League contends that one section of AB 2223, which exempts mothers from civil and criminal liability if an infant dies during the perinatal period “due to a pregnancy-related cause,” essentially legalizes the killing of newborn babies. The bill “is intentional, strategic legislation designed to extend abortion rights past birth, to create a protected “fourth trimester” right to infanticide,” The Right to Life website reads.

The disclosure emerges from state-initiated litigation that is beginning to shed light on what critics call the administration’s secretive and lenient handling of immigrants beginning last year—treatment that is imperiling public safety, alarmed state authorities say. …Louisiana Attorney General Jeff Landry, whose state has joined Texas in suing the Department of Homeland Security and other federal immigration agencies over the issue, said testimony in the case being heard in U.S. District Court in Houston makes clear the Biden administration does not want the public to see how similar releases unfolded nationally in its first year. “I’m appalled the Biden administration has adopted a policy of releasing alien drug cartel members, human traffickers, and child sex abusers onto American streets,” Landry said.

PARIS—Twitter must disclose details on what it does to tackle hate speech online in France, the Paris appeals court ruled on Thursday, handing a win to advocacy groups that say the social network does not do enough. The decision provides ammunition to campaigners elsewhere in Europe who want tougher controls to prevent the spread of racist and discriminatory content on Twitter and other social media platforms. …The ruling sets France apart from countries such as Denmark, Britain and the United States, as the country’s stringent anti-racism laws allowed such litigation to succeed. In France, racism and anti-Semitism aren’t considered as opinions that can be held publicly, but as infractions.
