WSJ Editorial Board Suggests Revising Section 230 Protections for Big Tech: Epoch Times

The Wall Street Journal (WSJ) editorial board came out this week to express support for curtailing broad legal protections for technology companies after one of the newspaper’s opinion articles was fact-checked by Facebook. “We’ve been leery of proposals in Congress to modify Section 230 protections that shield internet platforms from liability. But social-media giants are increasingly adding phony fact checks and removing articles flagged by left-leaning users without explanation,” the board wrote in an op-ed title “Fact-Checking Facebook’s Fact-Checkers.”

Buyer’s Remorse? Let’s Blame the Press: American thinker

In his first week in office President Asterisk has done his old boss proud.  In just six days, lunch bucket Joe has signed 36 executive orders and put tens of thousands of jobs at risk.  He’s cancelled major construction projects like the Keystone XL pipeline and the border wall — resulting in lost jobs for the very unions who endorsed him.  He is reestablishing a moratorium on energy exploration on federal lands and rejoined the Paris Agreement on climate change.  These orders will cause further job losses in the energy sector and lost revenue in states that supported him.  If that were not enough, his relaxation of border control and immigration enforcement will result in an influx of illegal immigrants competing for the remaining jobs.  Luckily, Joe has also thoughtfully issued and order expanding food assistance programs.  Thousands of unemployed workers may need it.

What the Lord Hates About The United States

This post cites attributes of the wicked from Isaiah 1-6 and Psalms 10-12, indicating that these are things the Lord hates. Election 2020 was overflowing with the types of behavior described in the aforementioned scriptures; this may be happening because God has more fully given this nation over to its God-hating ways (manifested in the antiChrist ways of Marxism, which many embrace); there is still cause to repent and turn to God however

Senate Votes to Reject Objection to Electoral College Votes for Pennsylvania: Epoch Times

After a number of senators changed their minds in challenging the votes after the assault of the Capitol, Hawley’s office indicated that he would stay the course and mount a formal objection as planned to Pennsylvania’s electoral votes favoring Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden. “Pennsylvania, which is a state that I have been focused on as an example as to why people are concerned. Millions of Americans are concerned about our elections integrity,” Hawley said of the Keystone State during the Arizona debate. He called out Pennsylvania lawmakers over enacting new procedures regarding mail-in ballots.

Signs saying “Stop the steal” and “Four more years” were common throughout amid the president’s ongoing dispute of the election results in seven states. Pelosi: House Will Proceed With Electoral Certification After It’s Cleared by Police: Epoch Times

“In consultation with Leader Hoyer and Whip Clyburn and after calls to the Pentagon, the Justice Department and the Vice President, we have decided we should proceed tonight at the Capitol once it is cleared for use,” Pelosi said in a statement on Wednesday night, referring to Reps. Steny Hoyer (D-Md.) and Jim Clyburn (D-S.C.).
She added that “we always knew this responsibility would take us into the night,” adding that members of Congress and staff “should remain on the Capitol complex until they are notified by the United States Capitol Police.”

Electoral College Vote Count and Debate Halted After Protesters Breach Capitol Building: Epoch Times

The breach interrupted concurrent debates in the House and Senate over an objection to the counting of a slate of presidential electors from Arizona for former Vice President Joe Biden. Protesters, some of whom were dressed in Trump apparel, entered the building through a broken window, one video posted on social media shows. The building may have been breached in more than one location. Other videos showed protesters carrying American and Trump flags walking through the hall connecting the two chambers of the Capitol. A photograph showed one protester in the presiding officer’s chair in the Senate chamber. …The president said that the election was “fraudulent,” but cautioned supporters to not “play into the hands of these people … we have to have peace.”

Lankford: Millions of Americans Being Told to ‘Sit Down and Shut Up:’ Epoch Times

Sen. James Lankford (R-Okla.) on Jan. 6 said he felt supporters of President Donald Trump were being told not to voice their concerns about the 2020 election. …“The reason we have a Congress to settle our nation’s divisions, and the rules of the Senate make sure that every opinion in the nation is heard, is so issues like this can be addressed. The constitutional crisis in our country right now is that millions of Americans are being told to sit down and shut up.
“Their opinions matter.” …Lankford pushed back on colleagues, including Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.), who accused objectors of trying to overturn the election and flip it from Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden to President Donald Trump.
