The Healing of a Boy with an Evil Spirit – Bishop J. C. Ryle / Christian Audio Devotionals

The 10-minute devotional of this post teaches the value of parents taking concerns about children to Christ in prayer; it also emphasized His readiness to help the young. Furthermore, the reader mentioned lessons we should get from the text. The reader has wonderful voice and style, and he used beautiful music to accent his reading. If you’re a parent, please listen

Why Should We Believe The Bible? Mike Gendron

Not too long ago this question was only being asked by non-Christians. Today, the question is also being asked by professing Christians who are caught up in postmodernism. They say the Bible cannot be the objective truth because truth is subjective. Everyone is entitled to their own truth. Skeptics say truth can no longer be known with certainty. How would you respond to these assertions? Or how would you respond to someone who chooses to believe their religious teachings instead of the Bible? [He provided 10 reasons.] Also included: an ecumenical conference at SBC church with Roman Catholics; Pope Francis stated that to proselytize was a Pagan activity…

Christophobia: War Against Christianity – Persecution/Martyrdom of Christians Today – Peter Hammond

I received the following video notification from Christian Sermons and Audio Books this morning and was alarmed by its contents, particularly in regard to the numbers of Christians being martyred currently in the world. Video highlights are included in this post. Please listen, this is a wake up call to remind Christians that we are on a battle field and need to act accordingly….

Reformed Church in America splits….

This post contains an article by Religion News Service on the split of the Reformed Church in America. I am posting it because it is an ominous marker, a concrete sign that can be seen and measured, regarding the decline of the biblical church in America. This organization split over LGBTQ issues. Those more concerned with following the Bible than with being socially acceptable, broke away, forming a new denomination.

PSALM 63:3 Because your steadfast love is better than life, my lips will praise you.

The following commentary on Psalm 63:3, by The Expositor’s Bible Commentary, speaks of the rewards of seeking God fervently. The commentary on the entire Psalm is pasted in for those who might want to read it. As encouragement to do so, check out the one sentence with which MacArthur’s commentary described 63:3:   better than life. God’s covenant love is more valuable to David than life itself (cf. Php_1:21; Act_20:24). Those verses: Philippians 1:21  For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.  Acts 20:24  But I do not account my life of any value nor as precious to myself, if only I may finish my course and the ministry that I received from the Lord Jesus, to testify to the gospel of the grace of God.  The words from Expositor’s commentary are a wonderful read that fill out the understanding regarding those two verses.

Eternal Security and Gospel Assurance — Mike Gendron [former Roman Catholic]

Did you know over half of professing Christianity denies or rejects the Gospel’s divine promise of eternal life? Our Lord Jesus made His gracious and unbreakable promise very clear: “Truly, truly, I say to you, he who hears My word, and believes Him who sent Me has eternal life, and does not come into judgment, but has passed out of death into life” (John 5:24). [Then Mike talked about this via the following subheadings: Power of Almighty God; Promises of Our Great God and Savior; Perpetual Intercession of Jesus; Proof of Christ’s Unconditional Love; Protection of the Good Shepherd; Permanence of Divine Gifts; Plain Meaning of the Word “Eternal.” In conclusion, he asked 7 rhetorical questions.]

The Decline of Protestant Christianity in the early 20th century has impacted you today

This post is a crash-course in the decline of the Christian church since the late 19th century. The purpose herein is to help you assess the quality of your own faith as you come understand the unbiblical impact of Christian Liberalism.  The first two videos surround a figure of the Presbyterian church in the early 20th century, J Gresham Machen. [Although Machen was a Presbyterian, his fight against the unbiblical movement of Christian liberalism is relevant to the whole of Christianity.] Two posts from this blog are linked because they provide necessary information about unbiblical evangelism and C H Spurgeon’s fight against liberalism, narrated by John MacArthur.
