This post contains an article from Religious News Service on a new spiritual coop called, The Nearness. I am NOT recommending this coop, but am critiquing it from a biblical perspective. This is part 1 of 2 ; the second part contains three one-minute videos and a 25-minute video: one by MacArthur on the difference between religion and biblical Christianity; one that describes The Nearness, from their YouTube site; one on a new course they are offering; and a video by R C Sproul that explains encounters with God. Therein, he uses scripture and personal testimony of his conversion. Part 2 will be posted tomorrow

What’s Behind the Nashville Child Murders and the National Transgender Epidemic? – Epoch Times Commentary
…The image of a young woman dressed for all the world like a Hamas terrorist while gunning down three innocent young children and their caretakers keeps replaying in my head. That horrific crime is still shrouded in mystery, despite endless protestations from incompetent and largely cowardly public officials and police that all will be revealed soon—in redacted form, of course. …There’s something bigger going on here than just what happened in Nashville on March 27—and that certainly was bad enough. …No, this isn’t about gun control, although opponents of the Second Amendment have jumped in on it. It’s about something yet more cataclysmic. The transgender movement’s deepest intention is the death of the family. Nothing stands in stronger opposition to the growth of American and global communism….
John MacArthur on the Social Issues We Face Today
The title is a general statement to cover what John MacArthur addressed in the following video short I found at the YouTube site, Solus Christus: in his comments, you will hear a biblical take on the following: Planned Parenthood; abortion; human depravity; the Marxist worldview; the democratic political platform; Socialism; the absence of the rule of law in our culture under democratic rule….
They Put A “Christian Transgender” on MSNBC
The following video is from the YouTube site, Fight For Truth. I’m posting the video because his assessment is biblical and Christians need to hear some straight talk on the matter.

There are two other excerpts included herein, SAME-SEX PARENTING and NO-FAULT DIVORCE. We Blunder and Stumble in our Holiest Endeavors – J. R. Miller (Christian devotional)
This brief devotional will give you some clarity about what God would have you doing with your life. To be more specific, and to summarize Miller’s words: God has placed you in a specific place, amid a specific group of people, with specific needs…; He has given you talents, interests, abilities… that He expects you to use to SERVE those around you…. J R Miller states that message in a pleasing and kind manner. His words will help you to see and act on those little specific things all around you. [After publishing this post I discovered shorts by MacArthur and Baucham that apply to the matter discussed by Miller, these were added under the Miller video]
Psalm 9 and the Antithesis – Pastor Patrick Hines Podcast
My last three posts are about events that are presently unfolding in our society; the two posts on Curtis Bowers’ Agenda Weekly, touched on the topic of the Nashville shooting by identifying underlying factors. This post explains the “antitheses” more specifically, using Psalm 9. An overview and some discussion points are precede his podcast.
The Epidemic of Teen Depression: A National Scandal – Epoch Times Commentary
The numbers are grim: “In 2021, 57% of high-school girls reported experiencing persistent feelings of sadness or hopelessness in the past year, compared with 36% in 2011. Thirty percent reported they seriously considered attempting suicide in 2021, up from 19% in 2011.” …There’s a strong indicator in the Wall Street Journal report: It turns out that depression is assailing liberal and progressive kids disproportionately. The progressive worldview is downright depressing, and those who are pushing those doom-and-gloom views—particularly educators and politicians—are to blame for getting so many impressionable young people hooked on sadness and pessimism.
