According to the yellow journalists over at the Daily Mail, that’s just because the now ex-president thinks flirting with a Patriot Party gives him leverage over the Republican Senators for the coming impeachment trial. They’re scared of his popularity with their voters come the next primary, as well they might be.

Nor is it enough to depend on the prayers or religious efforts of others. If our country is to survive, God requires our own individual faithfulness — as shown by our righteous life, the sincerity of our supplications for deliverance, our commitment to overcome — through Him — our lapses and weaknesses, and above all, our submission to His will, no matter the outcome, as we seek to supplant evil with good, as He defines such things scripturally.

He also looks at nominal professing Christians, clarifying this condition and its dangers. In the process, he states the characteristics of true believers. [I found it to be a great sermon to enable one to see his own backsliding, his cool affections for Christ; the sermon also offers encouragement and direction about how to return.]

That only 12 senators, with Josh Hawley (R-Mo.) leading the way, have stood up to say they would question the results of our presidential election, when CNN reports that at least 140 House members have said they would, does not speak well for what was once known as “the world’s greatest deliberative body.” …Not only that, but this same cabal of senators must have limned all the testimony about election fraud, from mail-in voting, to trucked-in voting, to ballots suddenly appearing from under a table after everybody went home, to absentee ballots being absconded with and probably shredded, and other possibilities so multitudinous at this point that the sworn affidavits stacked on top of each other would reach somewhere near the top of the Capitol Dome.

First-time homeschoolers tend to get caught up in comparing their children’s progress to that of their school-aged peers—a habit that veteran homeschoolers learn to happily let go. It’s only natural, of course. If you’re worried that your children will “fall behind” if you homeschool, realize that the bar (sadly) has been lowered this year. Students, especially those in elementary school who thrive on playing and in-person instruction, likely won’t progress at the same rate they would have if school were fully in session. What’s more, if you give homeschooling a solid chance, you’ll likely find that your children learn astoundingly more than they would ever have in school and in significantly less time.

Work with your children to set up routines, expectations, and strategies for how learning will happen in your home. You do not have to model your days after a traditional public or private school schedule. Invite your children into a dialogue about what school at home looks like for them and decide together how it will look. Make a plan and reevaluate the plan often in case adjustments or changes need to be made. This is how you will create buy-in and enthusiasm for children who aren’t used to schooling at home and honor them for the unique contributions they can make.

I’m glad Ms. Chambers can vacation in the Caribbean and risk getting Covid FOR THE SECOND TIME (yes, she already had it) and possibly spread the virus literally around the globe, but her students are supposed to just stay home, do nothing, and maybe talk to her on the internet every once in a while. That must be a really great experience for them. I’m sure their parents would be satisfied if Ms. Chambers maybe just Zoomed the kids every once in a while and showed them the view down in Puerto Rico. What is it, about 80 or so down there? Sweet. It’s 32 in Chicago. But that’s cool. I hope she’s having fun on her vacation!
