Pastor Voddie Baucham compares the myths of Greco-Roman romantic love to biblical love. While his focus was on warning single men and women about the dangers of allowing themselves to become involved with non-believers, listeners will hear a definition of romantic love and of biblical love along with examples of each. This message is worth hearing for singles and for married Christian people, as Christ would have us love our spouses as He loves His church.
This post contains comments from Alexander MacLaren on Philippians 4:8 and 9. I read it this morning after reading through Philippians. I believe that his comments are a prescription for the ailment of backsliding and commented on that while introducing the text. Also, some of his words describe current events which I commented on after MacLaren’s thoughts ended. If you have been struggling in your walk of faith, then you may find some specific direction and motivation herein.

Mr. Lee filmed a 2-minute video of the Ark Encounter during his recent visit. He then spent a couple of minutes talking about the craftspeople that the Lord provided for fashioning the Ark and for recent updates at Sermon Audio. If you have read about the creation of the Tabernacle and / or Solomon’s temple, then you will have noted that the Lord’s provided expert craftsmen for the various types of work that had to be completed.

“Specifically, the bill repeals and replaces provisions that define, for purposes of federal law, marriage as between a man and a woman and spouse as a person of the opposite sex with provisions that recognize any marriage that is valid under state law,” reads the bill’s summary on Congress’s website. “The bill also repeals and replaces provisions that do not require states to recognize same-sex marriages from other states with provisions that prohibit the denial of full faith and credit or any right or claim relating to out-of-state marriages on the basis of sex, race, ethnicity, or national origin,” the bill’s summary continued. House Judiciary Committee Chairman Rep. Jerry Nadler (D-N.Y.) introduced the bill on July 18. …Nadler takes the position that same-sex marriage is a “fundamental right” that was targeted by the Supreme Court.
America’s progressive elites have transitioned from “Follow the Science” to “Science Is Violence.” Their senior-most judges will not define what a woman is, nor will their celebrated scholars acknowledge that only a woman can give birth. In fact, to even assert the latter, in our betters’ view, is to render one a dangerous societal menace. …What Bridges illustrated is that progressivism requires one to ignore science, our basic humanity, and what we know to be true, and subordinate it all to a secular regressive anti-faith, of which radical gender ideology has become a sacred and integral part.
In the following 3-minute video, pastor MacArthur provided direction to a mother about what should she do because she is not permitted to speak of Christ in either of her unsaved daughter’s homes.
Rapper, author, fitness coach, and political commentator Zuby says that his faith and life experiences have equipped him to speak out against dangerous and irrational trends, such as the left advocating for personal rights without holding people responsible for their choices. “This is a message that I wish were pushed more,” Zuby said during an interview with EpochTV’s “American Thought Leaders.” “I think we talk too much now in the West about rights, not enough about responsibility. And talking about rights is really important; I talk about rights a lot, but you always have to couple it with responsibility, because with every right comes a responsibility.”
Is this a horrible time to raise kids? In the following 5-minute video, Jonny Ardavanis (Dean of Campus life at Master’s University) asked John MacArthur the above question. If you have children, then you will be encouraged by MacArthur’s response.
“It is really something to think about,” he wrote, “how the Left today, post-Dobbs, is left to feel the same things that many of us on the Right have felt over and over again: defeat on an issue that is dear to us. They are not used to losing — not our ruling class. They are used to getting their way, and expecting the rest of us to fall in line and know our places.”
