Galatians, Intro Sermon to series by John MacArthur

In this post is an introductory sermon of John MacArthur’s series on Galatians. Sermon highlight points precede the 48-minute video for those who would rather read. The initial 20 minutes or so is devoted to the lives of Job and Luther, to show godly fear that moved these men to seek God, but that did not avail in reconciliation until God intervened. If you know little about the difference between the seeking of salvation/reconciliation with God via works or via faith, then you should benefit from hearing his words. Also, he describes some current false teachers, also highlighted in the points.

Eternal Security and Gospel Assurance — Mike Gendron [former Roman Catholic]

Did you know over half of professing Christianity denies or rejects the Gospel’s divine promise of eternal life? Our Lord Jesus made His gracious and unbreakable promise very clear: “Truly, truly, I say to you, he who hears My word, and believes Him who sent Me has eternal life, and does not come into judgment, but has passed out of death into life” (John 5:24). [Then Mike talked about this via the following subheadings: Power of Almighty God; Promises of Our Great God and Savior; Perpetual Intercession of Jesus; Proof of Christ’s Unconditional Love; Protection of the Good Shepherd; Permanence of Divine Gifts; Plain Meaning of the Word “Eternal.” In conclusion, he asked 7 rhetorical questions.]

The fight of faith, A W Pink

This post contains a 20-minute reading from A W Pink’s writings about fighting the good fight of faith. His description of the fight is very useful because he boils things down such that one can begin fighting. Sermon points precede the video, so those who do not have 20 minutes to spare, can read the points, which are more than just highlights.

Saving Faith – Counterfeits By A. W. Pink

There is a faith that seems genuine but that has no saving power. This post contains an 8-minute excerpt of a 32-minute A W Pink which provides some specific points that may help you ascertain the quality of your own faith. Since evangelism has been fairly corrupted the past 200 years, with many false gospels and methods of evangelism being foisted upon potential converts, ascertaining whether your faith is genuine or not is an important matter. The 32-minute reading is also included, as well as highlight points on the 8-minute excerpt.

The Conditions of Power in Prayer – Charles Spurgeon

This post contains a C H Spurgeon sermon on prayer: there is a 14-minute excerpt on a sermon point that will give you insight into the quality of your own faith regarding prayer. Spurgeon talked about prayer in terms of the relationship of a child to his earthly father; his examples were the best I’ve heard in terms of revealing one’s faith. If you desire to have answered prayers…and to grow in faith and love of God, then you will certainly benefit from hearing what he said. The entire sermon is also posted herein, and I highly recommend it, as the excerpt only covers one sermon point.

WILL CATHOLICS GO TO HELL?

The 22-minute video of this post was divided into equal parts to upload. On the video, the vlogger specifically answers the question, will Catholics go to hell. He initially provided a casual answer, but after a few moments, began a specific biblical answer. In the process, he compared Protestant Reformed faith and Catholicism, according to what they hold to be God’s doctrine of SALVATION. The Roman Catholic Church holds an unbiblical view.

Why Is Repentance Necessary? – J C Ryle [3-minute excerpt]

The following 3-minute excerpt of an 80-minute Ryle Audio book about the necessity of repentance for heaven. I excerpted this brief section of Ryle’s message because his words offer a unique perspective regarding getting to heaven. I believe that his words will make it easier for you to accurately critique your own desires concerning heaven. Sermon highlight points are provided and a link to the entire audio book.
