Dispensationalism, History And Theology By Pastor Patrick Hines [Salvation And Eschatology Part 1]

This post contains a sermon by Pastor Patrick Hines on the history of dispensationalism. In the process of explaining that, he addresses the pre-millennial and a-millennial views of end times. That is the chief reason I am blogging his message. The next post in this mini series will be about covenant theology, which is about the history of redemption as viewed by way of Bible covenants. That theology undermines dispensationalist’s views about end times and about how God dispensed salvation to Israel and the church; as covenant theology believes that Israel was the church from the beginning, via Abraham.

Christians Will Be Tested During These Last Days by James Coates

Pastor James Coates preached on Joshua 1:7 in the 13-minute video excerpt of this post. The following are a few points from the sermon: Biblical courage is the resolve to do what God demands in the face of any and all opposition, regardless of the outcome or cost, and to do it in a Christ-like manner as fruit of the Spirit, otherwise, your courage is fleshly. To be strong and courageous is to be resolute in the discharge of duty. As: 1Corinthians 15:58  Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that in the Lord your labor is not in vain.  As: 16:13 Be watchful, stand firm in the faith, act like men, be strong. God called Joshua to have such convictions

The Church, the State, and the Fight for Life – R C Sproul

From one of our live events, R.C. Sproul discusses the distinct roles of the church and the state in addressing one of the most serious ethical issues that America has ever faced: abortion. [In the video interview, Sproul speaks from a biblical worldview, anyone who subscribes to the very recent worldview of evolution will misinterpret his remarks. I linked a recent post wherein these two worldviews are contrasted; and quoted a few scriptures that speak of God as Judge of His universe.]

Conservatives Organize Against Exposing Children to LGBT Ideology – Epoch Times

From Idaho to Texas, parents and conservative groups are organizing to push back against the sexualization of children that involves “drag” shows and LGBT content. In Idaho, a “drag kids” show with performers as young as 11 was postponed Sunday at the Boise Pride Festival in Idaho after the state GOP called on constituents to pressure event sponsors to withdraw support…. The Idaho GOP was able to mobilize hundreds of people to delay the “drag kids” event. When the Idaho GOP and its chair Dorothy Moon got wind of a drag show to be performed by 11- to 18-year-olds, the organization launched a series of press releases Sept. 7-8, saying the Left was using a taxpayer-funded event to “sexualize children.”

The Burned-Over District [The Origin Of Several American Religious Cults]

5 Minutes in Church History, hosted by Dr. Stephen Nichols, is a weekly podcast that provides an informal and informative look at church history…. Unlike the Great Awakening of the 18th century, the revivalist preaching of the so-called “Second Great Awakening” left many people disillusioned with Christianity. On this episode of 5 Minutes in Church History, Dr. Stephen Nichols takes us to a region in New York that still bears scars from the 19th century. [He briefly discusses Joseph Smith; William Miller; Ellen White; and the Oneida Utopian Community.]

The World is Restless Today – Pastor Patrick Hines Quotes J. Gresham Machen #shorts

The one-minute video in this post is about the response of J. Gresham Machen to 20th century Christian liberalism. Pastor Hines mentioned numerous books Machen wrote before he quoted him. Machen’s words are from Isaiah 44 about the folly of idolatry and are powerfully stated; those words describe a larger portion of the church today. Please take a moment and listen to Machen’s rebuke of the liberal church.

Proclaiming The Gospel – The Ministry Of Former Roman Catholic Mike Gendron

Catholics have been indoctrinated with the premise that the Roman Catholic Church is the one true church founded by Christ 2000 years ago. They claim protestant churches began only 500 years ago. Are they correct? Is there a “one true church”? And if there is, can we identify the one true church? The answers to these important questions can be found throughout the New Testament. Mike’s argument consists of the following headings: Who Are Members of the True Church? The Professing Church Is Not the True Church; Roman Catholicism Is Not the True Church; There Is Only One Door to the True Church; The Spiritual Promises Given to the True Church; The Privileges of the True Church; and, The Protection of the True Church.

The Dark World of Gender Ideology and Homosexuality – Voddie Baucham, John MacArthur, Matt Walsh, HB

Vlogger John Henry’s video description: Gender ideology, homosexuality, and queer theory are the things that I didn’t know were closely related… until I stumbled the across the infamous documentary What is a woman? by Matt Walsh from the Daily Wire, and several teachings of Voddie Baucham, John MacArthur, and H. B. Charles on the subject of gender theory and homosexuality. What ensued after was a dive into rabbit hole unlike any other, from corrupt and immoral laws, to debauchery, to a wretched and unbiblical lifestyle, to a whole new way of thinking about sex and sexuality. This… is the dark world of Gender ideology and Homosexuality.

How Christ Fulfills The Old Testament Sacrifices OF Leviticus – Dr James Boyce

This post contains a 24-minute mp3 sermon by Dr. James Boyce on the Day of Atonement. He makes clear the sacrifices of the Old Testament and shows how Christ fulfilled these. If you aren’t clear on these things, then you will likely glean understanding from his clear exposition of Leviticus 16. His sermon is far more enjoyable to listen to that it is to read through and attempt to understand Lev. 16 on your own.
