A leaked audio recording revealed California teachers mocking parents over concerns about homosexual and transgender indoctrination at school, said a source who attended a recent teachers union conference in Palm Springs. The recording, obtained by The Epoch Times, captured two seventh-grade teachers, Kelly Baraki and Lori Caldeira from Buena Vista Middle School in Salinas, Calif., telling other teachers how to recruit students into LGBTQ clubs, also known as “Gay-Straight Alliance” (GSA) clubs, at school. “It was horrifying to listen to not just one teacher but really all of the teachers in all of these seminars, excoriating parents,” said the source, who goes by the pseudonym Rebecca Murphy.
I know many people who celebrate Christmas and love the season…but don’t go to church, read the Bible, believe in Christ; I also know people who adhere to the teachings of other world religions and celebrate Christmas. That is easy in this culture, because Christ has been removed from this celebration which used to bear His name but is called “The holidays” presently. BRACKETTVILLE, Texas—Sheriffs in 17 states are calling on President Joe Biden to fire Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, urging the president to replace him with somebody who will re-establish control over America’s southern border. The Western States Sheriffs Association (WSSA) said in a position paper obtained by The Epoch Times that “a great deal of progress was made” in enforcing the U.S.-Mexico border under the Trump administration but that sheriffs are now witnessing “a complete and total breakdown” of enforcement efforts.
The Labor Department’s Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) says it has suspended the implementation and enforcement of the Biden administration’s COVID-19 vaccine mandate for private businesses. The announcement came shortly after a U.S. appeals court rejected a challenge by the Biden administration on Nov. 12 and reaffirmed its decision to put on hold OSHA’s mandate, which requires that businesses with 100 employees or more ensure that workers either be vaccinated against COVID-19 by Jan. 4, 2022, or be tested weekly and wear a mask.
A group of leading Republicans on Wednesday introduced a “parents’ bill of rights,” saying that Democrats have recently started to take power away from parents and hand over more control to politicians and teachers unions to “dictate what our children should be taught in classrooms.” …A fact sheet released by McCarthy outlines five rights that should be guaranteed to parents that make up the main principles of the legislation. These include the right to know what is being taught in public schools and to see reading material, the right to be heard, the right to see school budgets and spending, the right to protect their child’s privacy, and the right to be updated on any violent activity at school.
Republican Daniel Rickenmann defeated Democrat Tameika Isaac Devine during Tuesday night’s mayoral election in Columbia by 4 percentage points. Richland County, where Columbia is located, saw President Joe Biden win by 38 percentage points last year. According to a New York Times analysis of the election, precincts in Columbia overwhelming voted in favor of Biden. …Obama had released an audio message to support Devine, and the former president himself carried Richland County by 29 points and 33 points in 2008 and 2012, respectively. Clyburn, a top ally of Biden and whose congressional district also includes parts of Columbia, also endorsed Devine. Following Rickenmann’s win over Devine, Republicans say it’s evidence of a growing “red wave” that will see Republicans re-capture the House during the 2022 midterms.
