YOGA, MEDITATION, THE HIGHER SELF, DEMONIC SPIRIT GUIDES: PAGANISM, PART 12

In this series on paganism, Aleister Crowley has been identified as the father of modern culture, particularly, its rebellious nature: he called for rebellion in the form of sexual revolution; drug experimentation; the complete disregard of others in the pursuit of one’s own desires; and rebellion against all authority, particularly Christianity.

Another man, who is seemingly as instrumental as Crowley in this ubiquitous 20th century pagan movement, is psychologist, Carl G. Jung. His goals were very similar, but his means of achieving them differed. Jung, a psychologist, was also an occultist. He kept the latter hidden, speaking of occultic related topics via scientific language so as not to alarm colleagues.

Jung and Crowley were both students of eastern religion and yoga. They each were familiar with numerous types of yoga and practiced eastern meditation.

Dr. Peter Jones, in his book, The Other Worldview, noted that practitioners of eastern meditation include shamans of ancient pagan religion; and their experiences differ little, if at all, from 21st century wiccans, satanists…. Hence, if you practice yoga and meditation, you are moving towards shamanistic experiences.

In the following 5 minute video, by a Jungian psychologist, Jordan Peters, you will hear him state that those shaman who succeed in their journeys, cure themselves. But like the journey of Carl Jung, a psychosis of sorts may be experienced in the process.

The second video below, 11 minutes long,  provides an overview of Jung’s theories. The vlogger, sisyphus55, mentioned Jung’s red book which contains a detailed account of his mystical journey…including the meeting of his spirit guide, Philemon. (If you desire to explore that work, a vlogger posted readings from Jung’s red book on YouTube.)

Dr. Jones noted in his book that Philemon dictated much to Jung. Crowley also received much from his spirit guide; As did the author of Harry Potter, J. K. Rowling, in her bestselling series. This type of experience is common among occultists.

In closing, a few points to consider from this series on paganism:

  • If you practice yoga, you can expect shamanic type experiences. Furthermore, you cannot claim to follow Christ while you delve into the darkness of occultism
  • I stated elsewhere in this blog that one who practices yoga does not have to practice meditation to experience the kundalini awakening (encounters with demonic spirits)
  • Satanists, occultists, Wiccans, New Agers or pagans, emergent churchgoers, mystics…are very related via their meditation techniques; their experience of reality, at least their worshipful reality, is very similar
  • Eastern pantheism, God is in everything, oneism, is foundational to yoga and meditation; one cannot be a pantheist and a Christian: the God of the Bible, is outside and superior to His creation
  • Aleister Crowley’s call to follow one’s own desires, the “law of thelema,” and imbibe in wanton sexuality, drug usage and all forms of rebellion against authority, especially Christianity, amounts to entering into complete bondage. Anyone who has ever fought against an addiction (alcohol, drugs, gambling…) knows the bondage of that kind of lifestyle. It is also a defiling, self-destructive, isolating lifestyle; to call it freedom is to be in a state of self-delusion   (there will be one or two more posts on paganism; in one, the Jungian concept of reconciling opposites such as good and evil, male and female in oneself and in society will be discussed–after I have sufficiently understood it to write about it; also, androgyny, a related topic will be explained. I mention that now, because an addiction could be considered a bad thing that would need to be integrated into the personality, a core component of Jung’s theory for obtaining psychological health)
  • One of Crowley’s goals, the synthesis of western occultism and eastern mysticism is occurring via this pagan movement through eastern meditation
  • This neo pagan movement is man-centered: man is responsible for saving himself, curing himself, fixing society…
  • The naive dream that mankind can create a utopia, by curing himself and society, has been dreamt before, 20th century Marxism…communism was such a dream: it failed miserably; the enlightenment thinkers, during the advent of the scientific method believed that they could do away with the God of the Bible and create a utopia; WWI, WWII claimed about 100 million lives; not to mention other 20th century wars. The world wars and the Nazi death camps screamed aloud that mankind cannot fix himself or society.
  • When a person is born-again, as described in John chapter 3, the Holy Spirit begins a process of sanctification wherein He progressively makes a the Christian holy, it is a lifelong process. The Bible states that Christ is the only hope of deliverance from sin / evil in oneself; the same wretchedness spoken of by Solzhenitsyn in the last post.

STUDY RECOMMENDATIONS:

***Dr. Peter Jones’ book: The Other Worldview  Therein, he provides an overview of  the modern paganism I have been attempting to show via this series. He also identifies many authors, and their contribution to this movement. And he speculates about how it has impacted the state of our world, and Christianity; he also suggests a response

***Read posts 1 and 2 of this series for foundational concepts and video examples of Crowley, nature worship, Baal worship….

***See categories, Yoga, for more information about yoga and meditation: that post from 2018, states basic information not in this post; therein, a video by the late Caryl Matrisciana provides useful information about yoga and worldviews; she and Dr. Jones are in agreement regarding yoga and worldviews…but arrived via different paths; the second short video explains the Kundalini spirit of yoga

***DVD, Wide is the Gate, volume 1, by Caryl Matrisciana: therein, she is mostly concerned with false Christian worship, syncretistic worship; but she cites movements, people…that provide insight into Dr. Jones’ writings: for example, she warns that school systems in the western world are introducing yoga and meditation techniques to students; they discuss spirit guides, witches…occultism. She believed that this type of indoctrination into the eastern worldview was setting the stage for rebellion against the God of the Bible…. Also, if you subscribe to Netflix, note how many tv shows feature witches. Paganism, oneism, the eastern mindset are in the mainstream of our culture.
