Dr. MacArthur explains that God does permit evil and shows His rationale, per scripture. In the process of his explanation, he covers the following points:
- Some use logical arguments to say that evil indicates there is no God
- Evil exists in the following realms: natural, moral, supernatural and eternal. He provides numerous examples for each category
- God, who is sovereign, exists: numerous scriptures cited to show biblically that God is behind what humans call good and evil
- Arminianism shown to have an unbiblical view of God and man: many examples provided, concluding with revealing its problems
- God shown to be sovereignly behind all that occurs in His universe, from scripture
If you are new to the Bible or a Christian who doesn’t study the Bible, then this sermon is very beneficial regarding the formation of a biblical Christian worldview; also, for witnessing purposes, when non-Christians say that evil demonstrates there is no God.
