President Donald Trump on Wednesday called on protesters who were amassed near the U.S. Capitol building during the Joint Session of Congress to go home, while asserting that the election was stolen from him. “You have to go home now. We have to have peace. We have to have law and order and great people in law [enforcement],” Trump said in a video address. Trump asserted that the election was “fraudulent,” but stipulated that Capitol protesters “can’t play into the hands of these people … we have to have peace.” “We love you, you’re very special,” he said, adding, “I know how you feel.”
