This post consists of the April newsletter of Mike Gendron’s ministry, Proclaiming the Gospel [to Roman Catholics]. Mike was a devout Roman Catholic for 37 years before he was converted via studying his Bible. He talks about his conversion in this issue.
Glory to God For One Million in Circulation |
Our most popular Gospel tract for setting Catholics free from religious bondage and deception has now surpassed 1 million copies in circulation. As we give God all the glory for this milestone, we are most thankful to Him for inspiring me to produce this compelling Gospel tract, which is now available is 5 different languages. We are also thankful for all of you who have ordered these tracts as a demonstration of your love and compassion for Catholics who need to repent and believe the Gospel. May God continue to be glorified as His Gospel is made known through this tract. The Inspiration Came from a Crisis of Faith The inspiration for writing this Gospel tract came from a crisis of faith that I had as a devout Catholic. When I began reading and studying the Bible, I realized that the plan of salvation in God’s Word was diametrically opposed to the plan of salvation I was taught as a Catholic. The more I abided in God’s Word, the more difficult it was to reconcile Catholic teachings and traditions with Scripture. This crisis of faith forced me to consider a question of utmost importance – should I trust Christ and His Word or the teachings and traditions of my religion? By God’s grace, I chose to believe Christ and His Word and repent from the false gospel of Rome. This inspired me to produce a Gospel tract that would encourage Catholics to consider that same important question, the one that ultimately led me to the assurance of eternal life. The Gospel tract presents the compelling differences between God’s inspired Word and the Catechism of the Catholic Church, regarding the life-changing doctrines of Jesus and Salvation. Catholic Authorities Are Conflicted Knowing that Catholics would not trust a “protestant” Bible, I made the decision to use the Catholic Bible so that Catholics would have to choose between their two authorities. On all the key doctrines about Jesus and Salvation, I revealed how the Catholic Catechism always opposes the Catholic Bible. This persuasive Gospel tract also gives a brief history of how the Catholic Church drifted into apostasy, a time-line of unbiblical religious traditions that crept into the church, and a glossary of Catholic terms. I also included a point-counterpoint contrast of the Gospel of Grace with the Gospel of Roman Catholicism. |

Two Paths to Eternity
Our Lord Jesus urged people to enter the narrow gate when He revealed two contrasting paths to eternity in Matthew 7:13-14. This inspired me to contrast the two different paths pictured above in the Gospel tract. Every Catholic I have ever shared this with has agreed that they are indeed on the Roman Catholic Path to Eternity. After I share the Biblical Path to Eternity, and the compelling contrasts between the two paths, they are interested in knowing more. There are so many fascinating and convincing distinctions. One path is narrow that leads to life but very few find it; the other is broad that leads to destruction and many are on it. One is found in the Word of God (John 14:6); the other is found in religious traditions (Mark 7:7-8). One follows the true Shepherd (John 10:3); the other follows wolves in sheep’s clothing (Mat. 7:15). One leads to eternal life with the Creator (John 5:24); the other leads to the eternal lake of fire (Rev. 20:14). One is gained by divine accomplishment (Heb. 7:25); the other through human achievement (Luke 18:9-14). One is entered by believing what Christ has DONE (John 19:30); the other by what man must DO (Rom. 11:6). Reaching Catholics for Christ There may be no better time to evangelize Catholics than now because they know their pope and clergy cannot be trusted. Many are looking for an authority they can trust. We must show them the only infallible source for truth on this earth is the inspired, inerrant, authoritative Word of God. Let us use this Gospel tract Roman Catholicism: Scripture vs. Tradition to set them free from religious deception and to show them the narrow path to eternal life. |

Letters to Equip and Encourage the Saints |
Sir, What makes your version of the “Gospel” more valid than others? You say you’re not an infallible interpreter of Scared Scriptures, yet that is precisely what you’re practicing and promulgating. Fifty years from now, no one will remember you or your bible church. The Catholic Church will be around until Christ’s return. What caused you to leave The Church and become such a toxic anti-Catholic? Dan, Internet Dan, I left the Catholic Church because God seeks worshippers in Spirit and Truth (John 4:24). I could no longer remain in a religion that deceives its people about life’s most important issue – the salvation of their souls. I love the precious souls in the Catholic Church which is why I have dedicated my life to reaching them with the true Gospel of grace. Perhaps you will convicted by my viral message You Will Be Shocked. You asked why I became a toxic anti-Catholic. I am against any religion that deceives people because there is nothing more wicked and evil than leading people down the wide road to destruction. By the way, my version of the Gospel is the one that is gloriously revealed in Scripture. I pray you will repent and believe it (Rom. 1:16-17; 1 Cor. 15:1-4). Mike, My wife and I raised our kids in the Christian faith. However, my son who graduated from Baylor University has been defending the Catholic faith lately. He told me he was intrigued by the Catholic Mass and wants a church that takes worship seriously. He has been sending me Catholic apologetics videos but I don’t know enough about the Catholic faith to answer many of his questions. I just watched one of your messages and it was outstanding and answered a number of questions. I know I’m asking a lot but I would love to put him on a phone call with you to discuss the Catholic faith versus God’s truth. Sincerely, J.J., Internet Hi J.J., Tragically, we get far too many emails and phone calls like yours. Part of the blame must be placed on protestant pastors who ignore the exclusivity of God’s Gospel and fail to warn their congregations about the false gospels of Catholicism and the cults. Many protestant churches have replaced the worship of God with irreverent worldly music. It is no wonder why people like your son are favoring the formality of the Catholic Mass but are unaware of the divine curse placed on Catholic priests for preaching a distorted gospel (Gal. 1:6-9). Yes, I will definitely make time to do a three way phone conversation with you and your son and answer any of his questions or assertions with the supreme authority of God’s Word. I will also join you in prayer for his discernment and repentance. Pastor Mike, I have been reading your book Preparing for Eternity and want to thank God for using you to write so accurately. I tried to share the Gospel with my Catholic family but ended up being rejected by all of them. I am now going to share some of the information in your book with them and also on my Facebook page. I pray for you often because sharing the Gospel with Catholics can be dangerous. They are fierce and very offensive. Know that you are not alone in this ministry and that people appreciate your efforts. K.P., Mexico |

The Only Infallible Source for Truth |
What is your authority for truth? Can it be trusted? Has it ever been wrong? Can it detect the lies of false teachers? In this age of growing deception, it is important to know that God has left us only one infallible source for truth that can always be trusted. It is the inspired, inerrant, infallible Word of God (2 Tim. 3:16). It is the only lie detector that can be trusted to protect us from the “father of lies” and all his willing partners (John 8:44). Anyone who wants to be confident that they are walking in the truth should look to the Lord Jesus, who is the personification of truth (John 14:6). His Word is truth and He came to testify to the truth. Everyone on the side of truth listens to Him (John 17:17, 18:37). The only way to avoid being deceived is to test the uninspired words of men with the inspired Word of God (Acts 17:11). Consider some of the warnings and exhortations we see in Scripture. Let God be true and every man a liar (Rom. 3:4). It is better to take refuge in the Lord than to trust in man (Ps. 118:8). Do not trust in princes, in mortal man, in whom there is no salvation (Ps. 146:3). Cursed is the man who trusts in mankind…and whose heart turns away from the Lord (Jer. 17:5). Men will arise, speaking perverse things, to draw away the disciples after them. Therefore be on the alert (Acts 20:30-31). We use the Word of God as our lie detector to avoid being deceived. |
