Two posts from this blog about Roman Catholics who were born again and left the RCC:
Mike Gendron, was a Roman Catholic for 37 years. In 1981, he attended an evangelical seminar and was born again. A few years later, he and his wife Jane left the Catholic church and thereafter began a ministry to help other Catholics know the saving power of the biblical gospel. They call their ministry, Proclaiming the Gospel.

Dr. Fred Tarsitano was born again over 40 years ago. In the first video below, he shares his conversion experience which includes beginning to read scripture and seeking answers from priests and a bishop about the Bible. He made some very important discoveries that may interest you very much if you are a Roman Catholic or if you have family or friends who belong to the Catholic church.
In the second video, Dr. Tarsitano focuses on some common errors that all false religions share, regarding the biblical doctrine of salvation. In the process he talks about 4 false religions and points they share with the Catholic church.

Jesus Christ – The All Sufficient Savior |
Satan’s greatest and most damning lie that seduces and ensnares people of all religions is that man must do good works to appease their god. Every religion in the world deceives its people by teaching a works-righteousness salvation. Biblical Christianity stands alone because it offers an all-sufficient Savior who saves by grace apart from works. The Lord Jesus did everything necessary to save sinners completely and forever! Salvation is by grace alone, through faith alone, in the person and all-sufficient work of the Lord Jesus Christ. In fact, anyone who attempts to merit their way to heaven by good works has nullified saving grace (Rom. 11:6). How Is Saving Faith Different from All Other Faiths? Since everyone has faith in something, the object of one’s faith is of utmost importance. Saving faith is trusting both the person and the work of Jesus Christ. It is trusting who He is as well as all that He accomplished to save sinners completely (John 20:31; Rom. 5:15-21). Saving faith is the complete transfer of trust from what man must DO to what Christ has DONE (John 19:30). This is the only faith that offers the assurance of eternal life with the Savior (Heb. 11:1). When man is trusting in what he must do, there can never be assurance because man can never cancel his eternal sin debt or become right with God. We Must Believe the Person of Jesus
We Must Believe the Work of Jesus
We Must Believe the Work of Jesus It has been said that the road to hell is paved with good intentions. That is because man thinks his good works will qualify him for heaven. Paul prayed for such people who do not know that God’s standard and requirement is perfect righteousness. “For not knowing about God’s righteousness and seeking to establish their own, they did not subject themselves to the righteousness of God” (Rom. 10:2-3). Because of God’s perfect standard, man’s only passport into heaven is the perfect righteousness of Christ. It is given as a gift to all who believe in the person and work of Christ (Rom. 5:17). All the glory, honor and praise will be for our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. No man will ever be able to boast before God (1 Cor. 1:29). This is why we encourage you to share our popular Gospel tract with everyone you meet: You Can Never Do What Christ Has Done. |

False Converts Must Repent of Their Works |
The above article on the All Sufficient Savior was written for Catholics and all professing Christians who think their good deeds and religious works will qualify them for heaven. Paul could not have made it any more clear when he wrote: “For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God, not as a result of works, so that no one may boast” (Eph. 2:8-9). Catholics Must Do These Works to Be Saved According to the Catechism of the Catholic Church (CCC), the requirements Catholics must do to be saved include: water baptism (CCC, 1256), sacraments (CCC, 1129), good works (CCC, 1477), the sacrifice of the Mass (CCC, 2180), penance (CCC, 980), and keeping the law (CCC, 2068). Tragically, Catholics trust the uninspired teachings of their Catechism instead of the inspired Word of God. They need to be aware that there are only two faiths in the world. One is by grace through divine accomplishment, the other is by works through human achievement. One is based on what Jesus Christ has DONE, the other is what man must DO. Those who are deceived will never know it until they are confronted by the truth. As truth bearers, we must rescue those who are perishing by speaking the truth in love. We must call Catholics and others to repent of their dead works and trust Christ and His perfect, all-sufficient, finished work of redemption. |

Letters to Equip and Encourage the Saints |
Mr. Gendron, Could pride be behind Protestants unwilling to believe in the 2,000 year-old Catholic Church teaching on the real presence of Jesus in the Eucharist? Is it safer to label it “idolatry” than refusing to adore Jesus who is present in the host? Remember God will not be mocked. F.C., Internet F.C., By the authority of God’s inspired, infallible, inerrant Word, we know Jesus cannot be physically present in the wafer. He will return in a body, not a wafer. “This Jesus, who was taken up from you into heaven, will come in the same way as you saw him go into heaven” (Acts 1:11). He does not return every day. He “will appear a second time, not to deal with sin” (Heb. 9:28). He “must remain in heaven until the time comes for God to restore everything” (Acts 3:21). He will return “Immediately after the tribulation” (Mat. 24:29). He will return to the same place He ascended: “on the Mount of Olives” (Zech. 14:4). He will return in the sky “with power and great glory” (Mat. 24:30). If you need more biblical proof please watch this video. Mike, I was a Southern Baptist for 40 years before I converted to Catholicism. We have a saying in Catholicism and it holds true – “Strong Protestants make good Catholics, and weak Catholics make good Protestants.” If you look at all the scholarly people who have left Protestantism for Catholicism, the list is quite long. What you don’t see is scholarly priests and nuns who jump ship to become Protestant. S.C., Internet S.C. Any professing Christian who has never been born of God and sealed by the Holy Spirit (Eph. 1:13-14) can choose to depart from the apostolic faith into apostasy (1 John 2:19; 1 Tim. 4:1-3). On the other hand, any Catholic who repents of the false and fatal gospel of the Catholic religion and believes the true Gospel of God is saved and eternally secured by the power of God (Mark 1:15; Rom. 10:9-10; John 10:27-29). Mr. Gendron, I’m beyond grateful that so many people are converting from Protestantism to Catholicism and embracing the Eucharist and becoming devoted to Mary. Your article, Another Mary Leads Catholics Away From Christ, really proves that you have been led astray. Is it your arrogance and pride that causes such a lack of respect for the Mother of our Redeemer, or is it your hatred toward His Church? You reveal a true lack of knowledge and understanding of Scripture. Mary is God’s perfect creation. For this reason, God has elevated Mary above any other creature. So, don’t act as if you are above her. Once you know the truth of the Gospel, then you will be able to proclaim it properly. Frank, Internet Frank, The Lord Jesus is God’s only perfect man. Did you know that your religion teaches Mary was sinless, but your Catechism contradicts this absurd teaching by stating, “she became the cause of salvation for herself and for the whole human race.” Do you not see this glaring contradiction? If she was the cause of salvation for herself, then she had to be a sinner who needed to be saved. Furthermore, after Jesus was born, Mary went to the Temple to offer a sacrifice for her own sins (Luke 2:22-24). A “sinless” person wouldn’t have done that. Have you not read, “all have sinned”? (Rom. 3:23). The inspired Word of God does not say “all have sinned except Mary.” May I encourage you to give all glory, honor, praise and thanksgiving to Christ alone because He is worthy! Mike, I wanted to sincerely thank you for your unwavering dedication to proclaiming the Gospel of Jesus Christ. It has been an incredible journey for me since I started watching your ministry. Your teachings have strengthened my faith and your commitment to preaching God’s Word has been an inspiration. I’m especially grateful for how you share the Gospel while exposing the unbiblical doctrines of Catholicism. In Kenya, the influence of Catholicism is quite prevalent, but you are truly making a difference, not only in my life but in the lives of many others around the world. With gratitude, E.M., Kenya Mike, I attended your presentation in Maryland last year. Like you, I was Jesuit trained (high school and college), but after reading your book Preparing for Eternity, I came to Christ. Keep up your unique mission to save deceived Catholics.
