John MacArthur on C.R.T. and Social Justice Movement
March 15, 2021
First Baptist Church Mesquite NV conducted interview; website:
HIGHLIGHTS of the 11 minute interview [excerpt?]; [bracketed statements and emboldening are mine]:
- MacArthur stated that the SJ agenda is the most dangerous controversy of his lifetime
- They came up with a slogan that no one could reject unless one wants to be called ‘racist’
- People have been mistreated in the past
- Justice does not need an adjective
- Social Justice is another term for socialism: taking money from one person and handing it to another [SJ / CRT / Critical Theory, are all included under the heading of SJ herein]
- It is a euphemism for equality of outcome: we can have equality of opportunity, but not equality of outcome
- But SJ advocates want to take from those who have earned and give that to those who have not
- It is a front for socialism – explained
- A simple explanation of this controversy: non-African-American people are the culprits concerning everything that is wrong in this society; our systems have caused this suffering
- Atheist, James Lindsay is very insightful [see: The New Discourses Podcast with James Lindsay]
- Lindsay’s evolutionary perspective is used to discuss this controversy [he does not advocate critical theory and his lectures are deep, if you want to learn more on the subject; I first saw him interviewed on Sovereign Nations, YouTube]
- Critical theory and CRT are a blow to God, as we were created in His image; for example, CRT’s attack of unchangeable things like gender
- The purpose of SJ is to declare that a victim is not responsible for what he has become or done; but the patriarchy is – White people
- Furthermore, victims cannot change this situation because the patriarchy is still in power…
- For example, Research Justice: declares that no White professor can produce acceptable research, all of their research must be rejected
- Such practices will undoubtedly slow progress in our nation
- Evangelicals have apparently been seduced by this movement
- Biblically speaking, the one thing that the sinner wants to do is to blame someone else for his sin; Dr. MacArthur described a study he did from Ezekiel 18 to clarify these things to his congregation
- SJ panders to the sinner’s pride, providing him with the excuse of victimhood to rationalize away his sin
- Likely, evangelicals bought into these things to avoid being called ‘racist’
- Therein, they were trapped, tricked, setup
- Confessing one’s Whiteness is virtue signaling, spiritual grandstanding, meaningless jestering that reinforces irresponsible victimhood conduct
- If you were an illegitimate child; if your mother aborted other children; if there is no father in the home; if you were permitted to wildly run the streets; if you are illiterate (the illiteracy rate in LA schools is mind-boggling), then what chance do you have; you cannot blame someone else for that
- [While working with violent juvenile offenders, I encountered White, Black, Hispanic and Asian youth, male and female, that came from such backgrounds; they were incarcerated by society for violating other people’s rights; we sought to help them process the pain of their abuse and start behaving responsibly to improve the quality of their own lives and to avoid future incarceration, that was 20 years ago, and even then, that facility was undermining staff efforts to hold residents accountable; that is, the victim mentality was being fostered…]
- Take a look at what you are and take the path to change that
- True change begins when one comes to Christ
- This country is being ripped apart by this controversy; churches and denominations are being destroyed – because no one wants to be called, ‘racist’
- God is no respecter of persons
- Racism, or any kind of partiality is a sin
- In SJ, everyone has to be reduced to an identity class; everyone in [the hegemonic class or the oppressor class] has to receive the same amount of hate; then they have to bear the same amount of guilt; then they have to endlessly confess…Drew Breeze…
- The big question is, are those evangelicals going to repent of being ‘woke?’
- Are they going to repent of supporting BLM, Antifa, hating the police, an institution God established (Romans 13) for the protection of life [and law-abiding citizenry]
- They must repent of siding with such a destructive movement

Something that Dr. MacArthur did not emphasize is that SJ and CRT are Marxist; and Marxism is atheistic, that is, it hates God and faith-based organizations. Any evangelical that would join such a movement is illiterate of their foundation and purpose; that purpose opposes God and His church.
On the website, The Gospel of Christ, I found a couple of videos wherein evangelicals were preaching CRT; for example Matt Chandler https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2PCUNzzjX1w
I saw pastor David Plait in one excerpt that I cannot presently locate. Furthermore, he wrote a book about the election wherein he acted like it was okay for evangelicals to vote Biden, even though MacArthur [correctly] describes Biden’s platform as one of “wickedness;” pastor Tim Keller was supporting Plait’s book.
Those three men are prominent evangelical pastors; I haven’t been searching for such pastors, I only stumbled upon them in the process of researching other matters.
I think it important for a Christian to be able to ascertain whether or not his pastor is imbibing from this ideologically poisonous well.
