This site has a greater number of Spurgeon’s Morning and Evening devotionals than other YouTube sites I explored.
This devotional offers much to consider about the topic of sanctification, presenting all the parts of it in a very condensed manner. It is certainly a good video to replay, note and meditate upon.

- Sanctification begins in regeneration
- The Spirit of God infuses into man a new living principle by which he becomes a new creature in Christ [see John 3 for more on regeneration]
- This work, began in the new birth, is carried on in two ways:
- Mortification: whereby the lusts of the flesh are subdued and kept under
- Vivification: by which the life which God has put within is made to be a well of water to everlasting life
- Every day this is carried on in what is called perseverance, by which the Christian is preserved and continued in a gracious state
- Therein, the Christian is made to abound in good works…
- This state comes to perfection in glory
- The Spirit of God is the author of sanctification
- He uses the word of God to sanctify
- John 17:17 Sanctify them in the truth; your word is truth
- Very many passages of scripture state that the word of God is the instrument of our sanctification
- The Spirit of God brings scripture to mind when it is heard and received it works in us to will and to do God’s good pleasure
- The truth is the sanctifier
- If we do not hear or read the truth, then we shall not grow in sanctification
- We progress in sound living as we progress in sound understanding
- Psalm 119:105 Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path
- Do NOT say of any error, it is a mere matter of opinion [hence, the importance of being in a church that preaches the whole counsel of God from His word]
- Errors in judgment lead to errors in practice
- Hold fast to the truth
