Franklin Graham Blasts ‘Evangelicals for Harris’

Franklin Graham, son of the late evangelist Billy Graham, has criticized the group “Evangelicals for Harris” after it used a clip of his father in an ad.

The ad shows Rev. Billy Graham asking God for forgiveness. The clip then cuts to a 2015 interview with Donald Trump GOP pollster Frank Luntz.

When asked if he has ever asked God for forgiveness, Trump says, “I’m not sure I have.” The clip then shows Trump saying he doesn’t “bring God into that picture.”

The ad asks, “Is there any greater denial of Christ…than to say ‘I do not need his forgiveness?’”

Graham blasted the ad, writing on X, “The liberals are using anything and everything they can to promote candidate Harris. They even developed a political ad trying to use my father @BillyGraham’s image.”

He noted the ad aims to “mislead people,” adding, “Maybe they don’t know that my father appreciated the conservative values and policies of President @realDonaldTrump in 2016, and if he were alive today, my father’s views and opinions would not have changed.”

The website for “Evangelicals for Harris” describes the vice president’s “faith story,” claiming her “faith journey started when she was a little girl, singing in the children’s choir at the 23rd Avenue Church of God in Oakland, California, where she was born and raised.”

“This was where she learned to have a living faith, one that expresses itself through one’s life, especially through service to others, particularly the vulnerable and powerless,” the site explains.

“While a deeply committed and faithful Christian, Vice President Harris has great respect for other faith traditions,” it adds. “Her mother Shyamala Gopalan and relatives in India took her to Hindu temples. She joins her husband, Doug Emhoff, in Jewish traditions and celebrations.”

The group has been condemned on social media.

Worship leader and conservative activist Sean Feucht said the “fact that there is even such a thing as ‘evangelicals for Harris’ that pastors/influencers join shows you just how apostate much of the American church has become.”

Journalist Laura Loomer called the group “offensive.”

“I don’t need to be a Christian to know that the agenda you are pushing is bad for Christians,” she wrote on X, adding, “And it’s offensive. And I am not a Christian but I find what you are doing to be very disrespectful and harmful to our nation.”
