Christmas: The True Story Told From the King James Bible

When I was in second grade, 61 years ago, I remember the teacher reading the Christmas story from the King James Bible. She apparently skipped her daily reading of some age appropriate book and read the Bible to us, as it was time to celebrate the birth of Christ.

I remember being outside sled riding thereafter, wondering what “swaddling clothes” were; imagine that, a second grade child pondering elements of the real Christmas story.

What do elementary children hear about the Christmas story in 2019?

I don’t know, but based on the movies I have seen about Christmas the past several years, nothing of Christ is mentioned. Only vague talk about Christmas magic, miracles…and of course, Santa Claus.

Below are six very brief videos: the first two are about the Christmas story, excerpts of scripture; the third video is an excerpt from a Charlie Brown Christmas story for children, it states scripture from Luke 2 also; and videos four through six are the readings from the KJV of Luke chapters 1 — 3, for those who have never heard the Christmas story and the lineage of the Lord Jesus Christ, the biblically foretold Messiah:

In the following brief video, pastor John Piper explains part of Luke chapter 2:

The next video is a three minute excerpt from a Charlie Brown Christmas story:

The following video is chapter one of Luke. It tells of the birth of John the baptist:

The next video is chapter two of Luke, which includes the Christmas story:

The next, and last, video is chapter three of Luke. It speaks of the lineage of Christ and goes back to Adam and God:

Please share this post with those who think that Christmas is about Santa Claus; their souls are in grave danger.

If you would like to hear a biblical explanation of “The Angel of the Lord,” see categories, Bible Key Word Studies. Therein, Dr. Duane Spencer, uses scripture from across the entire Bible to bring much clarity to that phrase so often used in scripture.
