Video: Facts Matter (Jan. 13): Why Impeachment Will Likely Fail; State of Emergency Declared in DC: Epoch Times

The video linked to this post discusses: Impeachment; CNN removed from airports; PBS anti-conservative talk caught on air; Human trafficking Florida; Kyrgyzstan president; Iran capturing a ship for possible sanction negotiations; China devising exploding helmets for some of their soldiers (possibly those with a high risk of going AWOL): the helmets also have a video cam for monitoring action and troop whereabouts – great for monitoring, tracking, controlling and disposing of soldiers. Times of each story are noted so one might advance to next story

Twitter, Facebook: $51 Billion Combined Market Value Erased Since Trump Ban: Epoch Times

Social media giants Facebook and Twitter have collectively seen $51.2 billion in combined market value wiped out over the last two trading sessions since they banned President Donald Trump from their platforms following the U.S. Capitol breach. As users attempted to flee to Parler and other social media websites, Amazon Web Services suspended its service with Parler on Jan. 11, triggering a lawsuit from the company hours later. …Most recently, Google’s YouTube removed new content from Trump’s account and suspended his channel for at least a week, saying that the channel violated its policies for “inciting violence.”

Chinese Regime Oversaw ‘Unprecedented’ Efforts to Crush Human Rights in 2020, US Commission Says: Epoch Times

The Congressional-Executive Commission on China (CECC) said in the report released on Jan. 14 that the “Chinese Communist Party has taken unprecedented steps to extend their repressive policies through censorship, intimidation, and the detention of people in China for exercising their fundamental human rights.”…It said that new evidence emerged last year that “crimes against humanity—and possibly genocide—are occurring” in the region of Xinjiang, where Beijing has subjected Uyghurs and other Muslim minorities to a vast campaign of repression including detention, forced labor, forced sterilization, and mass surveillance. …The CECC also highlighted the regime’s expanding efforts to silence people in America critical of the CCP and pressuring U.S. companies to bow to Beijing’s demands.

The People Don’t Recognize God’s Judgment: Rev. Kenneth Stewart

This sermon is a perfect follow up to the last post, as it carefully explains the mercies of God in Christ – gospel repentance; God’s standard of righteousness, from the perspective of the cross; what it means to care about the things of God; and how ministers of the word err. …The aforementioned topics are the highlights; his minor points and related material were wonderful; that is, therein he expanded much and made those things very understandable, such that new Christians will get much from hearing him.

What the Lord Hates About The United States

This post cites attributes of the wicked from Isaiah 1-6 and Psalms 10-12, indicating that these are things the Lord hates. Election 2020 was overflowing with the types of behavior described in the aforementioned scriptures; this may be happening because God has more fully given this nation over to its God-hating ways (manifested in the antiChrist ways of Marxism, which many embrace); there is still cause to repent and turn to God however

Video: The Dangerous Roots of Cancel Culture and How to Push Back–Interview with Jeff Myers: Epoch Times, Crossroads

Joshua Phillip interviewed Dr. Jeff Meyer on cancel culture. Phillip’s questions were great, they brought out the following aspects of our culture war: the opposing worldviews were defined; the idea they have of truth was clarified; coping skills of each were discussed; the failure of each to establish dialogue was discussed; possible remedies were noted. A very important point was made about social media ideology: 55% of interpersonal communication depends upon posture and body language; 38%, depends upon tone of voice; and only 7% depends upon words. Therefore, medias that use only words to interact, are doing a miserable job conveying the messages one intends to give to another. [This interview is the best I have seen on describing the elements of the culture war and providing those who would have dialogue with much to consider and apply.]

Huxley’s Warning: Totalitarianism in the 21st Century [from AmericanThinker.com]

The greatest triumphs of propaganda have been accomplished, not by doing something, but by refraining from doing. Great is truth, but still greater, from a practical point of view, is silence about truth. By simply not mentioning certain subjects, by lowering what Mr. Churchill calls an “iron curtain” between the masses and such facts or arguments as the local political bosses regard as undesirable, totalitarian propagandists have influenced opinion much more effectively than they could have done by the most eloquent denunciations, the most compelling of logical rebuttals.

Truth

The purpose of this post is to emphasize the value of truth as it is described in scripture; and to make clear that truth is presently wounded, lying in the street, and the forces of evil are focused on destroying it before it is able to get up. (Jer 7:28 [ESV2011]) And you shall say to them, ‘This is the nation that did not obey the voice of the LORD their God, and did not accept discipline; truth has perished; it is cut off from their lips.
