Crimes, especially property offenses, are vastly underreported because the public has lost faith in the justice system, the source said. “They think that no one cares. They think that nothing is going to happen,” the source said.
When police sometimes tell victims of property crimes there’s no point in reporting these incidents because district attorneys likely won’t do anything, “unfortunately, they’re right,” the source said.

For years we kept our children in those schools, convincing ourselves they were safe, that their teachers and the curriculum they were studying were teaching them good things. That those good things would prepare them for living in the free world, able to embrace truth and recognize error immediately. Given the accelerated rate of deception in society, it now seems clear that schools indeed didn’t prepare children to recognize propaganda; instead, they were the ones that fed propaganda to children hook, line, and sinker.

Ohio and Rhode Island on Saturday became the 28th and 29th states to report cases of the Omicron virus variant. Ohio officials said two cases were detected, both of which were among persons who were fully vaccinated more than six months ago. Rhode Island officials confirmed one case. The patient is fully vaccinated and recently returned from New York. …Officials disclosed the vaccination status of 66 of the infected individuals. Of those, the vast majority, or 52, were fully vaccinated. Some had even gotten booster shots.

So the Apple CEO could be incentivized to give away its technology and ignore human rights abuse to maximize his bonuses in the short term while not only selling out Apple shareholders, but American democracy to boot. Meanwhile, Apple is among other major American corporations—including Nike and Coca-Cola—lobbying Congress against the core provisions in a bill that just passed the House against the use of Uyghur forced labor in China. DeSantis threatened to send illegal immigrants to Delaware back in November. He said his office is looking at legal avenues after his administration alleged that about 70 flights of illegal aliens were sent to Jacksonville, Florida, after being picked up by agents along the U.S.–Mexico border. “We’re going to get together and figure out what we can do in the immediate term to protect folks in Florida,” DeSantis told reporters, noting that his options are limited because the federal government controls the immigration policies and actions. But “if they’re not doing that,” DeSantis added, “then clearly the state should be able to come in and provide protection, and so that’s what we’re going to be looking to do.”
