AGENDA Weekly Brief

Week of May 27 – June 2

Dear Friends,

Charles Spurgeon said, “Our God is of another order. He notices every one of us. There is not a sparrow or a worm, but is found in His decrees. There is not a person upon whom His eye is not fixed. Our most secret acts are known to Him. Whatever we do, or bear, or suffer, the eye of God still rests upon us – and we are beneath His smile, for we are His people; beneath his frown, for we have erred from Him.”

1. REPUBLICANS CAVE ON DEBT CEILING FIGHT: In a shocking betrayal of Kevin McCarthy’s promise to House Conservatives who elected him Speaker, The U.S. House voted 314-117 to pass the ill-named “Fiscal Responsibility Act.” 71 courageous Republicans voted against the deal. The bill sailed through the Senate with 63 votes, with 31 Republicans, 4 Democrats, and 1 Independent opposing. Heritage Foundation President Kevin Roberts responded, “The fact that more Democrats than Republicans voted for the bad debt ceiling deal tells you which side got more in this ‘compromise.’ The everyday American will pay the price, as they always do, for the shortage of elected officials willing to fight for their interests.”

EJ Antoni of the Heritage Foundation said, “Government spending will likely be much more than currently estimated, and the nation will be lucky to get through the next two years and not borrow more than $4 trillion.” After the bill passed the House, Rep. Brad Sherman (D-CA) celebrated, “Now we are allowed to say it: we rolled them.”

State Freedom Caucus Director Andy Roth noted, “Textbooks will tell you that the two-party system in the United States is comprised of Republicans and Democrats. Wrong. The REAL two-party system: Majority: Dem+GOP. Minority: House Freedom Caucus.”

Ed. Note: For more, read, What’s Wrong and What’s Right With Debt Ceiling Deal and Summary of the Fiscal Responsibility Act.

2. TARGET RECEIVES BOMB THREATS FROM TRANS ACTIVISTS: At least five Target stores received bomb threats from transgender activists after Target pulled its Pride collection in response to boycotts. The activists threatened, “We are sending you a message, we placed a bomb in the following Targets. We will continue to bomb your Targets until you stop cowering and bring back your LBGT merchandise.” Several days before the bomb threats, California Democratic Governor Gavin Newsom called out Target’s CEO for “selling out the LGBTQ+ community to extremists” by pulling its Pride collection.

Not surprisingly, Carlos Saavedra, Target’s Vice President of Brand Management, sits on the board of the radical pro-grooming Gay, Lesbian & Straight Education Network (GLSEN). In related news, Kohl’s has followed Target’s lead, selling LGBT-themed clothing for infants and children.

3. CHICK-FIL-A TRENDS WOKE: Chick-fil-A announced a VP of diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI), prompting some conservatives to call for a boycottThe Daily Signal details Chick-fil-A’s betrayal of its founding principles over the past four years: “First, in 2019, Chick-fil-A cut donations to organizations that support traditional marriage. At the same time, the company had been funding the Southern Poverty Law Center, a left-wing nonprofit that smears mainstream conservative organizations as ‘hate groups.’ Strike one. Then, Chick-fil-A jumped in with the cultural revolutionaries and the ‘racial reckoning’ following the May 2020 death of George Floyd. Strike two. Now, they’ve promoted McReynolds and made DEI a significant initiative in the company. Strike three.”

4. BIDEN FALLS…AGAIN: After handing out diplomas at the U.S. Air Force Academy in Colorado, Joe Biden tripped and fellRepublican presidential candidate Nikki Haley responded, “While this is hard to see, we have to be honest with the American people. Our enemies see the same TV clips and wonder who is in charge.” Several days before Biden’s fall, GOP presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy was more to the point, “It actually makes more sense if you see what’s going on. Biden’s cognitive deficits are not a bug to them; it is a feature to the managerial class that puts him up as their puppet. He’s more easily controllable by the people who are pulling the strings, the real puppet masters, if he has those cognitive deficits.”

5. UNIPARTY ATTACKS TEXAS AG: On Saturday, the Texas House impeached popular Attorney General Ken Paxton 121-23 under charges of “bribery, unfitness for office, and abuse of public trust.” Paxton is temporarily suspended as Attorney General pending the Senate trial, which will take place no later than August.

Paxton’s Chief of General Litigation, Chris Hilton, said, “The claims that have been made by the General Investigating Committee have been thoroughly researched and debunked time and time again. Texans knew about all of these allegations in the last election, and they rejected them by a margin of ten percentage points.”

U.S. Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) notes, “No attorney general has battled the abuses of the Biden admin more ferociously—and more effectively—than has Paxton.” One month ago, Paxton announced an investigation into Covid vaccine makers. Shortly before, Paxton gave a speech explaining how election fraud occurred in 2020. Election integrity advocate Jay Valentine believes the Deep State is targeting Paxton because he stands in their way of turning Texas purple by orchestrating “industrial-scale voter fraud from the large cities” in 2024.

Donald Trump called out Governor Greg Abbott for being “missing in action” on the impeachment and blasted “RINO Speaker of the House of Texas…Dade Phelan.”

6. MORE SMOKING GUN ELECTION FRAUD PROOF FROM AZ: A new video shows Maricopa County election officials breaking into voting tabulators and reprogramming them AFTER the legally required Logic & Accuracy Test. Kari Lake responded, “They tested them. They found out that about 60% would fail… They used those on Election Day. They put the failing machines in Republican areas.” Lake continues to fight against the corrupt 2022 Arizona gubernatorial election and has vowed to take her case “to the United State Supreme Court.”

7. EU WANTS DIGITAL ID BY 2030: Reclaim The Net reports, “The European Commission has set aside €46 million (about $49 million) for the controversial European digital identity wallet, an upcoming smartphone app that will allow citizens of all 27 member states of the EU to store and share a digital ID. The wallet could be used for presenting travel credentials, registering a SIM card, opening a bank account, and accessing services like social benefits.” Four pilot programs involving 250 public and private organizations will prepare for the rollout.

Ed. Note: Researcher James Roguski warns that the World Health Organization is working to push through “a worldwide (digital) ID system that easily becomes the beast system. And nobody is talking about it.”

8. COMMENTATORS SAY GOP PRIMARY BEING USED TO DISTRACT, DIVIDE-AND-CONQUER CONSERVATIVES: Robert Spencer draws comparisons between the Trump-DeSantis feud and the election of Woodrow Wilson in 1912 and writes “There is only one beneficiary of all this, and it’s neither Trump nor DeSantis: it’s the authoritarian socialist Democrats that both of them have vowed to challenge and defeat. The unfolding debacle is reminiscent of the underappreciated tragedy that befell the nation in 1912.” Jack Posobiec predicts, “The civil war on the right will tear each other apart, and the globalist technocrats will walk Joe Biden down the middle. This is the agenda.” Charlie Kirk believes the Republican primary is being used to distract conservatives from investing in election integrity, “ballot chasing, harvesting, voter reg, and signature verification” ahead of 2024.

9. HAWLEY OUTLINES THREE MARXIST THREATS TO AMERICA: In his recent speech to the National Religious Broadcasters, Senator Josh Hawley (R-MO) warned that the Marxist Left is attacking God, family, and national sovereignty. Hawley said, “Their assault on the goodness of America is an assault on God.” Hawley declared, “Parents should raise their children, not Big Tech, not Big Government, not big corporations.”

Ed. Note: A recent Wall Street Journal-NORC poll found that 38% of Americans value patriotism (down from 70% in 1998), 39% value religion (down from 62%), and 30% say having children is important (down from 60%).

10. AMERICANS ARE GROWING UP LATER: In its analysis of Census Bureau data, Pew Research finds that young Americans are reaching five key life milestones later than their predecessors 40 years ago – “having a full-time job, being financially independent, living on their own, getting married, and having a child.” In 1980, 64% of 21-year-olds held a full-time job, compared to 39% today. 42% were financially independent, compared to 25% today. 32% were married, and 18% had a child in the home, compared to only 6% for both milestones today.

11. MOST COUNTRIES EXPERIENCING DEMOGRAPHIC COLLAPSE: In his new documentary “Birthgap,” filmmaker Stephen Shaw explores the global birth implosion and its root causes. Shaw explains, “No society in history has been known to come out of that spiral.”

Life Site News reports that thanks to the birth control pill, “According to the Journal of the European Economic Association…’By 1971, more than 75% of Americans thought that premarital sex was acceptable, a threefold increase from the 1950s,’ and the number of unmarried 20 to 24-year-old Americans more than doubled from 1960 to 1976.”

12. PRIDE FLAG REPORTED ON SET OF “THE CHOSEN”: Christians are asking why a small Pride flag was seen on a camera in a recent promotional video for season four of “The Chosen.” An official spokesman for “The Chosen” responded, “Just like with our hundreds of cast and crew who have different beliefs (or no belief at all) than we do, we will work with anyone on our show who helps us portray or honor the authentic Jesus. We ask that audiences let the show speak for itself and focus on the message, not the messenger, because we’ll always let you down.”

Jordan Boyd of The Federalist responded, “Unfortunately, the decision by ‘The Chosen’ and its openly Christian creators not to stand with its audience against the aggressive agenda of rainbow activists means, in a way, it has taken a stand against them. The statement from ‘The Chosen’ appears to buy into the lie that the only way you can love others is to endorse their beliefs and behavior. In the eyes of faithful, biblical Christians, defending a flag that undermines the very heart of what God desires for his children isn’t loving. It’s a clear rejection of the life God calls us to live. What ‘The Chosen’ seems to forget is that the ‘authentic Jesus’ they seek to portray in every episode of their show spoke up about the perversion of His Father’s world.”

13. FRANKLIN GRAHAM WARNS OF PERSECUTION IN AMERICA: In his speech to the National Religious Broadcasters, evangelist Franklin Graham predicted, “The storm is coming where we’re going to be off the radio and television and the internet.” Graham said, “If you’re not going to preach the Gospel, you don’t have anything to worry about. If you’re not going to talk about sin, you’re not going to have anything to worry about; but if you’re going to proclaim the Gospel, they’re going to try to shut you up. Jesus told us the world hated [Him] first, and they’re going to hate you. If you stand for Christ, the world is going to hate you.”

In Maine, The Pines Church was denied access to rent the local high school over the church’s views on transgenderism, abortion, and homosexual marriage. The Biden Administration has refused to put Nigeria on the list of Nations of Particular Concern for religious persecution, despite 52,250 Christians being martyred in that country since 2009.

14. ARE VACCINES BEHIND AUTISM SPIKE? Vaccine researcher Steve Kirsch notes, “According to one of the world’s most respected authorities on autism, all, or nearly all, of the world’s top 100 scientists in the autism field know that vaccines are the primary driver behind the autism crisis in America. They just aren’t allowed to talk about it in public. If they did that, they would lose their funding, their job, and be the subject of intimidation techniques from their peers. So they keep quiet, and nobody knows what they really think.”

15. NOTEWORTHY STORIES:

FAITH, FAMILY, & FREEDOM REPORT

1. KIRK CAMERON WRITES NEW BOOK AGAINST PRIDE: Kirk Cameron released a children’s book teaching about pride and helping kids learn the dangers of it. Cameron stated, “Take back your children. God gave them to you, not to the government or the schools, or even to your church. Children belong to moms and dads, and it is our sacred duty to nourish their hearts and minds with what is good and true and beautiful and leads to their blessing. So it’s not complicated. It just requires courage.”

2. STATES MOVE TO PROTECT THE UNBORN: Following the reversal of Roe v. Wade, 25 Republican states have enacted pro-life laws. Though some have been blocked, Marjorie Dannenfelser, president of Susan B. Education is the great equalizer and everyone involved – parents, educators, our children – deserves an environment where they can thrive.”

ALABAMA PROTECTS WOMEN’S SPORTS: Alabama Republican Governor Kay Ivey signed legislation banning biological males from competing in women’s sports, stating, “Look, if you are a biological male, you are not going to be competing in women’s and girls’ sports in Alabama. It’s about fairness, plain and simple.” The legislation was passed with overwhelming support in both the state House and Senate.

5. SUPREME COURT RULES FOR MORE FREEDOM: The U.S. Supreme Court unanimously ruled that states could not keep excess money made from the sale of properties delinquent in property tax. 6. SUPREME COURT CURBS EPA TYRANNY: The Supreme Court slowed the EPA’s control over wetlands and private property in a 5-4 decision, ruling in favor of property rights for individual landowners. Daniel Schiff of the Pacific Legal Foundation said, “Courts now have a clear measuring stick for fairness and consistency by federal regulators. Today’s ruling is a profound win for property rights and the constitutional separation of powers.”

7. SPANISH CONSERVATIVES WIN BIG: The Spanish Conservative Popular Party won a major victory in regional elections, gaining majorities or pluralities in 7 large Spanish cities, while the conservative Vox Party also gained ground. Daniel Di Martino of the Dissident Project tweeted, “Great day in Spain… the Left lost big in today’s regional and municipal elections. The socialist party lost 11 out of their 22 big city mayors & the radical left is out of many parliaments.”

8. POLAND STANDS UP TO EU: Poland is standing in strong opposition to the proposed EU rule to mandate that its members accept migrants into their borders and fine any country that does not comply 22,000 Euros per migrant. Rair Foundation reports, “Detractors of the migration pact vehemently contend that it flagrantly dismisses the fundamental tenets of member states’ sovereignty and their unalienable right to determine their own migration policies.”

9. VOTERS DON’T TRUST THE MEDIA: A Rasmussen poll found voters continue to distrust the establishment and its official narratives, revealing that only 30% of voters trust the news, down from 37% in July 2021. Rasmussen notes, “A majority of voters…still agree with former President Donald Trump’s denunciation of the news media as ‘the enemy of the people.’”

10. MTG ANNOUNCES J6 TAPES WILL BE RELEASED: Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) tweeted that the J6 tapes would be forthcoming, stating, “I’m excited to share the good news that, just as I promised, the J6 tapes are being released…This is the transparency the American people deserve…” The tapes will be released to three separate news outlets, but have yet to be shown in full to the public.

While Fox News is still the most viewed cable network, a Gallup poll revealed that Tucker Carlson is the most followed news host in America.

12. TRUMP CALLS FOR MASSIVE AMERICAN BIRTHDAY PARTY: Donald Trump announced he plans to make the celebration of America’s 250th birthday a special one, stating, “Three years from now, the United States will celebrate the biggest and most important milestone in our country’s history: 250 years of American independence. He is also very curious and traditional public schools could not satisfy his curiosity, therefore, the best option was college.” Professor Kenneth Collins says, “He is mature enough that the other students take him seriously, but enough of a kid that they look after him like a younger brother and cheer him on.”

14. GRANDSON TAKES GRANDMOTHER TO 63 NATIONAL PARKS: Over the past 8 years, Brad Ryan has taken his 93-year-old grandmother, Joy Ryan, to all of America’s national parks, including those outside of the Continental US. Brad Ryan stated, “Just knowing that [Grandma] had never seen deserts and mountains and the ocean and these incredible wild places on Earth, it felt like a responsibility that I had to her to make sure that she had some memories to tuck away in her life story as well.” Joy Ryan also noted, “It’s been a grand adventure. It really has. It’s really been a beautiful, beautiful time. And I wouldn’t trade it for anything.”

HYMN OF THE WEEK

He Hideth My Soul By Fanny Crosby

A wonderful Savior is Jesus my Lord,
A wonderful Savior to me!
He hideth my soul in the cleft of the rock,
Where rivers of pleasure I see.

He hideth my soul in the cleft of the rock,
That shadows a dry, thirsty land.
He hideth my life in the depths of His love,
And covers me there with His hand,
And covers me there with His hand!

A wonderful Savior is Jesus my Lord,
He taketh my burden away!
He holdeth me up and I shall not be moved!
He giveth me strength as my day.

With numberless blessings each moment He crowns!
And filled with His fullness divine,
I sing in my rapture, oh, glory to God
For such a Redeemer as mine!

When clothed with His brightness transported I rise
To meet Him in clouds of the sky.
His perfect salvation, His wonderful love,
I’ll shout with the millions on high!

He hideth my soul in the cleft of the rock,
That shadows a dry, thirsty land.
He hideth my life in the depths of His love,
And covers me there with His hand,
And covers me there with His hand!
