Paris Was Laughing at Jesus Until Christians Started Boycotting the Olympics

The video of this post calls for boycott of the Olympics, following the corporation C Spire’s pulling of all ads from the Olympics for the “anti-Christian” display on opening night. Elon Musk also called Christians to take a stand for what “is fair and right.” Of course, the Olympics spokesperson tried to make light of the matter, something like the CNN person who said that he was at a “mostly-peaceful protest” as buildings burned behind him. Will you believe a smokescreen of words or your own senses?

The Tabernacle of God [Jesus Christ] – Part 1

Dr. Philip Ryken described the Tabernacle from scripture and went on to explain its significance in terms of worship, then and now. His teaching concluded in an explanation of how it is that Jesus Christ is the Tabernacle.  If you have not understood this from your reading of the Old Testament, then you will greatly benefit from hearing his teaching. The concepts he explained are foundational to your worship today; to how you think about Christ and approach Him in worship. [Highlights run from 17 to 41 minute marks]

Pagan Deity Declared The “One True God” At Republican National Convention 2024

This post contains a 3-minute video by Pastor Michael Grant about a prayer to Pagan Deity Waheguru that signaled the close of the first day of the RNC. He firstly stated what that should have meant for all the Christians present, then speculated about the motives of those in charge of organizing the RNC. A brief description of Sikhism is included for those (like myself) who don’t know much about that religion. Recently, I posted a Todd Friel video comparing the RNC of 2000 with that of 2024, here is another MAJOR difference.

God’s Refining Process Part 2 of 2

The 4-minute video of this post explains “How God Tests Us.” In the initial two minutes the metal refining process is explained; then that information is applied to the Christian by explaining the manner and purpose of God’s “testing” process.  Highlight points are below the video. A few relevant scriptures are used in closing, to show that God’s testing process is like that used in refining metal.

God’s Refining Process – Part 1 of 2

This post contains the lyrics of John Newton’s hymn, I Asked the Lord That I Might Grow, to emphasize two things: 1- that his perspective is on the level of human experience; and, 2- he wrongly views God’s work in seeing it as something to be escaped (this hymn is so relevant because that is how humans typically view affliction, testing from God’s hand). Afterwards, scripture verses are used to convey God’s purposes in the work of refining. Then two versions of the song are provided, the first is a Country / pop version; the second, traditional hymnal version.

Deceitfulness of the Heart – Jeremiah 17:9 – Archibald Alexander – Part 3 of 3

Parts 1 and 2 of this three-part series treated the deceitful imaginations of the heart; this part consists of the ‘Reflections’ of Alexander as he closed the chapter. The text from his book is directly under the video so that readers might follow along with the video reader if they desire to do so. I think that is a good way to consider the weighty material Alexander covers in his study of Jeremiah 17:9.

I Am Sure I Cannot Endure To The End – John Newton

This post contains a 4-minute devotional from the letters of John Newton. Therein, I think that, Newton describes a biblical Christian walk. Newton’s conception of his Christian walk is very different than the conceptions of modern Christians. It seems to me that the major difference is that moderns remain more in their own strength than in the Lord’s.
