Michael Durham of RTM explains the development and evolution of the social gospel in the following 17 minute video. He goes back to the industrial revolution to show how and why the church became involved in resolving social problems that were created by recent social progress.
Thereby he shows how the social gospel falls miserably short of fixing social problems while it simultaneously leaves its followers unsaved–as it is unbiblical and not of God.
